RE: Nominate your roughest road

It might be helpful to build a list of rough stretches of road that we could then consider avoiding when planning trips. Yesterday I ran westbound on I-12 near Slidell in Louisiana and probably took 6 months off the life of my trailer.
Any interest?
I had a $3,500 bill after I12 between Slidell and Baton Rouge.
Never again will I take that hiway.

RE: DVD Player

I did find a couple of units available at a local Target store last year. I did not purchase at that time as my original unit was still not completely dead just difficult to use.
I do not know if they are still at Target, but if memory serves they were priced around $100 to $150. The more expensive unit had a
Blu-Ray dvd the cheaper unit was CD/DVD only.
They both had bare wire connectors (2 each) for each of my 5 speakers and sub-woofer.

RE: DVD Player

I have much the same issue. My unit has connections for the surround sound speakers. They are all bare wire spring loaded connectors. Can anyone suggest a DVD player (prefer BLURAY) with spring connectors for front left, front right, center, rear left, rear right, and sub woofer speakers ?

Need assistance with my Kipor Generator(s)

I own 2 IG2000P Kipor generators that have been working great for the last three years. I now need to replace the original spark plugs. They are a Bosch UR5 R6. I have contacted all the nationwide auto parts suppliers, they tell me they cannot find a plug to cross reference. After contacting Bosch, I am told that the UR5 was never distributed to the United States and I may need to find a supplier in Europe ? I have also been looking for an Authorized Kipor service dealer in Texas (preferrably Fort Worth) again without any success.
Does anyone have suggestions that can get me up and going again ?
P.S. The plugs are a 10MM thread

RE: external refer fans

At the point the burner tube enters the heat exchanger at the top of the cooling system.
If I knew how to post a photo I could show the exact location

RE: external refer fans

Does anyone know for sure what the optimum operating temperatures are for a refrigerator ?
I am asking about the Ammonia absorbtion temperatures. Mine seems to stay at or about 124 degrees regardless of the outside temperature. What temperature does the solution begin to boil, and what is the maximum temperature before crystalization begins ?
There should be an optimal range listed somewhere but I have been unable to find it.
Thanks.

RE: external refer fans

OK.
I know I need to have a fan in the back to remove the heat. If I want to add a thermodisc to turn on and off the fan at a certain temperature range, what range do I need to look for ???

Sheridan WY to Fishing Bridge Campground, Yellowstone

I am in Sheridan Wy now and will be leaving for Fishing Bridge Campground in the morning. Can anyone give me road conditions for Hwy 14? I am going to be going either 14 or 14A to Cody. I have been told that 14A is NOT the better route. Can anyone advise on current conditions ?
Thanks.

I've had mine for 5 years. So far no problems. Seldom use the slide function, but really happy to have it when it is needed.

RE: TST 507 Pricing

The price is an internet price only.
I bought two complete units today for a grand total of $198.00. No tax, no shipping. Placed order on internet.
Was also able to get the longer 3 year warranty that per the add expired May 16, 2011. I called the company before ordering and asked about the cost as well as the warranty.
If you are thinking about getting one... Now is the time.

RE: Accidental discovery - best way to remove black streaks

I think the black streaks are caused by sooty deposits in rain, not roof decomposition. I noticed plenty of black streaks on my airplane and it didn't have a rubber roof.
Did you check the RUBBER BAND ? :B
Sorry, couldn't resist.

Slide seal replacement

I replaced all my slides upper seals 2 years ago and now I find they are beginning to fall down again. The metal clip material inside the seal that holds it on the metal edge of the slide wall is again losing it's ability to stay tight. Inspection of the seal shows it is still in very good shape and could have many more years of life if it would only stay in place.
Has anyone tried using adhesives to reattach (semi-permanently) these seals ?
I thought about using some adhesive on the metal clip area and then sliding the clip back onto the slide. What my concerns are....
#1 What adhesive would be best to use ? It would someday have to be removed when the rubber eventually deteriorated.
#2 What adhesive would hold well enough that when all the metal clip has rusted, the seal would still hold securely ?
Has anyone tried this ? What were your results and would you do it again ?

Winegard Antenna question.

The rubber boot that encloses the antenna cable has deteriorated and needs to be replaced. Does anyone know how this is replaced or is it Non-replaceable ? It is the rubber boot that attaches at the roof plate to seal the cable from the antenna down through the roof.

RE: level trailer

Once I get rig level, I fine tune by opening door to rear bed room or bath half way... I fine tune until the door stays neutral... doesn't close or swing open.
I tried this too for awhile. Then realized the door frame was NOT square. Door aways swung closed when level.
Be sure the door frame is square if you want to try this method.

Carlisle VS Marathon

Heres the deal.
My tire dealer sold me 4 Goodyear Marathons 2 years ago and I paid for full replacement insurance. They are 235/80R16E (10Ply). I have had to replace 3 of the original 4. One was a sidewall puncture, 2 were defects. The tire dealership is now telling me they cannot get me a Marathon replacement and has offered to replace all 4 Marathons with 235/80R16E (10Ply)Carlisle tires FREE of CHARGE.
Is this a "Good deal", "Bad deal" or a "Fair exchange".
I have to make the call by 5/4/11 so if you can help me choose, I'd appreciate your comments.
Actual experience trumps personal opinion.

RE: Goodyear tires

Posted 2 complaints on the NHTSA website today in regards to Goodyear Marathon 235/80R16.
One Out-of-Round and one for Cord Separation.
If everyone who has a problem will do the same, maybe we can get some assistance with this problem.
