Most people wouldn't believe that there are areas this barren beside the Gulf of Mexico... especially in Florida

THere is a large area beyond this sign that is designated Gulf Island National Park... with campgrounds, bicycle and hiking trails, beaches, and of course at the very end Ft Pickens.

The public beaches weren't RV friendly... but I might have been able to squeeze our truck (and it's cargo) into the parking areas at some of the sites.

I'll give them credit... they have softened the industrial look of the tanks... actually made the tanks a artistic canvas.

Fort Pickens is far, far at the end of this island. There are plenty of campgrounds out there for those people that would like to stay.

The recent Photobucket would have allowed us to "level" the look back at the nice park on Gulf Breeze.... hopefully I can edit after they get their program back on track.

I don't care to hang out where it's crowded... and Pensacola Beach is very popular. If we had kids with us it would be the place to be.
I'd like to be able to edit and post pictures from Photobucket... it no longer works... any ideas? I pay for their pro account.
I can't easily crop this picture and I have to highlight, copy, and paste to post... bummer.

Years ago I found that a thin coat of Vasoline petroleum jelly on Janets sunglass lenses blurs about everything...

The ships tender was in and out several times while we were here... a young man and a 5 year old were totally at home on the water. Water-docking... I'd like that too!

The building on Pensacola Beach are on Santa Rosa Island... the same island that we have been on at Okaloosa , Navarre Beach , and Opal Beach.. and to the far west there will be Fort Pickens.
We'll pass through Pensacola Beach as we Leave Beeze. Many people enjoy the crowds, we don't.
