RE: Home Owners Insurance

It seams like an eternity ago that I had four cars, four teenagers and the wife bought a Pontiac Firebird. The insurance jumped from $2,700 to $6,100. We had an accident two years previously, the insurance paid $2,100 on that claim.
Soon after the Firebird was included which caused the big jump, my youngest son slightly bumped an old junker, the junker really was one, it had been purchased for $150 and was rusting like crazy. The adjuster totaled the junker and the insurance company had a policy that any car that was driveable b4 the accident was worth $950 min. that made the other guy smile.
Two weeks later we got a notice that they were dropping us due to too much potential liability. I called the company headquarters, asked to speak to the president, actually made it to a vice president. I explained the problem, got the company line that there was nothing they could do, it was all controlled by computers.
At that point I demanded to speak with the president and much to my surprise made it to the prezes secretary, I told her the problem and said that I was also in business and if she would pay me 6,100 dollars every year I'd gladly pay her 3,050 dollars back every two years whether she has an accident or not.
She put me on hold, spoke with the prez, came back to me with the news that I wwould still be insured and that they were sorry for the problem that their computer caused. I'm no longer with that company, my choice this time, I left co. A and went with co. SF and saved quite a bit in doing so.
Give 'em a call, get a reasonable person on the other end, speak politely and you may see a change.
