RE: Gray Water Tank Overfill

I go two weeks but also use the showerhouse a lot, that's for one person. I also take a lot of outdoor showers. Trying to work it out so both tanks fill at the same time.

RE: Help With Flags & Flagpoles.....

I don't care what they fly as long it doesn't block my view or knock over my drink. The thing is the flag flyers are the same ones with their names on pvc poles and 5 dogs in a foldup cage.

Stabilizer is for winterizing primarily. A couple months or more.
Diesel can sit for 5 years.

No, the OP never came back. Guess they figured, why try to relate to a bunch of lowlife, scumball, infested, disgusting campers (me included). But, I applaud them and would like to shake their hand someday:B

RE: small four-season trailer?

Is there even such a thing as a "4 season" trailer? Any trailer can be slept in in the dead of winter if you crank the heat but there are lots of things that involve water that aren't going to be working.
That's true
This is what happens when it gets down to 20F and below for extended times (couple days or more), and it doesn't matter if it's 70F in the Trailer and 4-season labeled;
Pipes freeze in the floor, sometimes pipes against the wall freeze
Drain pipes freeze if your on full hookups
Tank Valves freeze
Heat tape will not thaw out anything if it's outside. It will keep small diameter pipes and hoses from freezing, and that's it. Doesn't matter if it's got pipe insulation on it or not.
If you leave water dripping at a faucet it will create an ice dam on the waste side and sinks/tub will overflow.
The drain pipe at the back of the refrigerator will freeze and water will start running out the bottom of the door.
After months at a time in the cold I found out these things the hard way. Most of them are happening at the same time.

RE: small four-season trailer?

4-season in a lightweight TT means it's tolerable down to around 20F. I spent two winters in one a few years back with snow, ice, and constant temps in the low teens. Definition of 4-season can be misleading.

RE: Is this type of plug OK with an Atwood water heater?

About the only way your going to mess up the threads is over-tightening. After you put Teflon tape on just tighten until you feel too much resistance. Or, fill the heater with water and tighten until it stops dripping.

RE: Considering full timing, (or at least long-terming).

I see people fulltiming in PUPs to Class A buses. I don't need huge that's why I have what I do. With a TT you get full use of the truck bed for floor jack, generator, waste tote, other large items, and a all-around lighter rig than a fifth wheel.Better gas mileage and fitting in smaller sites is also a bonus. Laundromats are in just about every city for that once a month laundry day.Since you have some experience it shouldn't be too difficult for you. Finding long term sites can be tricky sometimes but I've stayed in the same site for a year before.

RE: Office on Wheels

Thanks all. These are just the kind of tips I was looking for. Anyone else? Are there any drawbacks to the marriage of camping + traveling? I sure can't think of any (but then I haven't done it yet).
If your outdoorsy and mechanically inclined no problem. It's fun having new neighbors all the time, going to better weather, living life smaller.

RE: Do I have a major roof problem?

I just started using RV roof cleaner and treatment and it looks great. I paid $15 a bottle, but what a difference. I should have believed in it long ago.

RE: New TT. What Basics Do I Need?

You get the basics with the RV to go camping (or should). I would wait until after the purchase (pick it up) to buy anything. Then there's a thousand things you could buy, but you'll only need about 1% of what's on the market.

RE: RV Parking City Ordnances

Two hours is a long time to load up. I would keep everything you need for a trip in the RV except for food and clothes. It will mean having two of a lot of things but make your trips more enjoyable.

RE: Hot Water Heater Drain Plug

By the way, just to set the record straight:
There's no such thing as a "Hot Water Heater". If the water is hot, it doesn't need to be heated. :W
real name would be -(Water Heater) So what's a coffee maker real name?
That would be 'coffee maker', it turns coffee into a beverage.
You don't call an 'Air Conditioner' a 'Cold Air Conditioner' do you...so why a 'Hot Water Heater'?
