RE: Sides or not

I don't have any slides either. 3 main reasons, 1) all slides add a lot of weight and can cause problems 2) easyer set up and the most important is fuel mileage. to pull or push all this extra weight it requires larger engines with 7.5 miles to the gallon. I push my coach with 300 HP and get 10 miles to the gallon of fuel. If the coach is used for full timing, yes, its nice to have more room. My DW and I only go out 2 or 4 weeks at the time and we don't just set up and sit in the coach. We like to spend our time outdoors where there is plenty of space. I see plenty high priced coaches with 4 slides pull in set up and you hardly see them outside.:S

Dash AC charge

I have to add some 134A to my Dash AC, and I am not sure what the high and suction press should be. I am guessing 35 on suction and 200 Lbs. on high pressure. Used to work with R 12 which was I think higher on to pressure side. Maybe some of you experts can chime in. thank you.

RE: Cummins ISC fuel filter change

Thanks spitfirepete. That was what I was afraid of....Might just let the dealer do this one......Hope you are enjoying the new coach !!
I change mine from the top. Assume your bed lifts or you can remove a panel. Its a bugger to change even from the top, just make sure you fill the filter first. If you have trouble starting, you can fill the filter with the manual pump on the lift pump.

RE: Changing the oil in a DP

Fumoto valve, you can use small containers like milk bottles. punch a hole in to the filter with a Phillips screwdriver and drain, less messy to remove.

RE: 97 Country Coach Amp Gauge

Once your gage shows low, with the engine running, put a voltage gage on your battery. Voltage should be 13.6 to 14. if lower, than you know what your problem is. Alternator/regulator/ ground.

RE: Wiper Arm

Passing thru a snow storm, the passenger side wiper stopped working. Seems the nut wasn't tight and the inside striped out. We are in southern AZ near Benson, heading to Tucson later this week. Has anyone had luck getting a wiper arm in this area without having to order and wait two weeks?
Looking at the inside, I can still see the serations and am thinking of filing to make the arm work again... Has any one try to do this? Any success?
Thanks
I purchased one from these people. Good price and fast shipping.

RE: OK I think I found an rv that im happy with

There are only a hand full of these parks, and most likely way overpriced. I would suspect, you won't even feel comfortable in those RV RESORTS. I am sure you know what I am saying.

RE: Cheeta by Beaver

Factory shocks only last about one year or so, and the tires would be 7 years old so they should be replaced if you go by the date.. I don't smell anything, just a nice coach that didn't have much use.. I don't know what Roadmaster chassis it has, but if it's the R4R or R4 you need to check the trailing arms to see if they have the ones that need to be replaced..
Mike M..I agree with your statement on seven year old tires, but who ever told you that factory shocks only last one year. My coach is a lot older with original Cony shocks and they are still in good condition. Could be the last owner did not like the ride and decided to replace them.

RE: ISC 350 will not run. Starts but quits after 45 sec.

Could it be, you picked up some bad fuel or some algea built in the tank from the water. I would check your water separator or change it just to be sure and re tigten your primary.there is a closed nipple in the filter base and when I removed the old filter it most have loosened up. To make a long story short I broke down on I10, fuel all over the engine, the back of the coach and my toad was covered. What a mess and about 35 gal. gone. Let us know what the problem was once you find it.

RE: ISC 350 will not run. Starts but quits after 45 sec.

Sounds like your sucking air, and running out of fuel. Make sure your primary filter is not lose, check for fuel leaks from tank to engine.
Hard to believe he would have a loose Primary filter as the problem was there before and after replacing filters.sounds more like a injecter driver or injecter pump problem to meBelieve it or not it happened to me. Changed my primary filter not realizing the nipple on the base gotten loose. Had a hard time starting, and than it started to leak.

RE: Old Cruise Controls

If your cruise control is on the signal light lever,Cruis King still has replacement actuators. If not you can get yours repaired for about the same price of a new one. The last time I checked, the price was about $ 475.00. Call Steve at Cruise King 507-334-0250,he is very helpful.

RE: 8D battery problem

All I have is a regular hydrometer and it reads around 1200 on all the cells on a full charge. Tried to open the steps and they would not extend. I have a 30 amp charger, may be I give it a try. Appreciate the help you guys have given me thank you . Scooter.

RE: 8D battery problem

Hi scooter4,
How long did you charge them before testing? Are the tops nice and clean? If they are dirty selfdischarge can happen quite fast. Na, I keep them well maintained , no dirt or corrosion clean as a whistle.Scooter

RE: 8D battery problem

The battery disconnect is off. and I added another to the ground terminal for good measure. in 3 to 4 days they reed about 10V. I did a power test at full charge and the needle jumped right down to 0. In this case I would certainly hope to find a dead cell, but they all show good. This is beyond my expertise. Scooter.

RE: 8D battery problem

Hi,
Desulphation. There are special chargers that have that feature. An old style manual charger may also be used.
What converter do you use? Is it a three stage smart charger?
How old are the batteries? Don, I don't know how old the batts are but I would guess at least 3 years. Purchased the coach 21/2 years ago. The charger- inverter is a Heart Freedom 20D,the original since 1996 (Country Coach).
