RE: Titanium or Everest

Titanium is a better built unit. I am not impressed with anything made by Keystone.

RE: Cracked shower base

My opinion: Which is free..........and can be taken.........or not..........Silicone is the last thing I would use. It will temporarily stop the leak......maybe. But will have to be removed to do a permanent repair. Eternabond will stick to plastic but will be ugly. You can fix it with a product call Plasti-mend @ plasti-mend.com. Or replace the whole shower pan. How old is the unit? Under warranty?

RE: ANT WATER DAMAGE??

The term is confusing. I have seen small water leaks and THEN the carpenter ants come in and do the damage. Remove the water leak and the ants go away.

RE: Carbon Monoxide - Wind Blowback from Water Heater

The exhaust vent is sealed. But there is nothing to keep the exhausted air from entering your camper if the wind is blowing just right. Some manufacturers are really bad about where they locate the water heater and furnace and wind can blow it in to any slight crack. Even if the tent bed and windows are closed there are still cracks for the fumes to get in.

RE: 31 degrees and heater stopped working?

Maybe a converter problem. (You most likely do not have and inverter) You may have lost 12v. testing of the 12v system is in order.

RE: Fridge is toast. New cooling unit?

The cooling unit is sealed. You simply unscrew the screws from the freezer and the back, remove the burner and any wires that are in the way and take the old one out. Reverse the procedure to replace. There are detailed instructions on the net. An experienced tech can do a 6 or 8 cu. ft. unit in three hours. It will take a first timer more time. Be careful and go slow. The Amish units referenced above are the best with the best warranty. Call Pines RV Refrigeration @ 901-337-9948.

RE: what to use on roof

Simple Green works well. Bucket and brush. Any mild cleaner will work fine. No harsh chemical cleaners.

RE: 2004 Alpine 40ft 3-Slides (your thoughts)

Alpine made a fine coach. I love working on them. The Cummins/Allison is a great combo. Last forever. Best milage is 8/10. If the price is right, you can't go wrong.

RE: FULLTIMERS...what sewer hose do you use?

Do not use TSP in you tank. I'm sure your Monaco has a tank rinser. Use it and every once in a while and put a bottle of Dawn or Calgon in it when empty. Add water and drive to your next location. Then rinse well and you will be good. No other chemicals or additives needed.
The Rhino Flex is a very good hose. Stay away from the cheapos.

RE: FIGURE THIS ONE OUT........

Invite them to come and play just for the day if it's not far. Or maybe they could tay in a nearby motel and come to the camp during the day. Do stuff and they might just like it.

RE: Broken refrigerator door hinge

4asong is correct. The new Norcolds have door hinge issues. in most cases on the newer models you will need to get a new door. Unfortunately Norcold went to a one year warranty so you may be out of luck. Call them and see. Most any RV parts/service company can order it for you. Not cheap.

RE: second toilet

Most second toilets are the Thetford Tecma line. The have a 1 1'2" drain line so they don't have to be plumbed to a black tank with a 3" line. They can be installed anywhere. They have a built in macerator/motor and runs on 12v. Suitable for boats and RVs. Very nice and pricey.
They work very well unless you put something down there that doesn't belong. Are you having trouble with your unit?

RE: Slide won't open

Remove the cover from the intellitec power center under the dash to the left of the brake pedal. there should be two gray automotive circuit breakers at the bottom. They should have small black buttons on them. Those are the resets. See if they are pushed out and reset them.

RE: No hot water pressure

You are making a HUGE problem out of a VERY simple fix. Replace the check valve on the rear of the water heater at the upper (hot) outlet. The part costs less than $15 and takes very little time to do. You do NOT have to remove the water heater or replace the water heater. Geesh, 3 pages of comments on an extremely easy fix. ????

RE: No hot water pressure

Most likely the check valve on the output (top) of the water heater has failed. Replace it.

RE: Adjusting main door hinges

No the door hinges are not adjustable. The striker pin sometimes is but if the bottom of the door is hitting the frame then you will need to remove the door and repair/rebuild or replace with a new door and frame. Very common on older rigs.
