RE: Marcus and his involvement here.

I applaud Marcus for really caring and frequenting this forum. It's here he can get a feel for what is going on in the company's he is charged with running. I have a public service job and deal with our personnel and citizens on a daily basis and making them all happy is impossible so for me seeing him posting means he's reading and using the information found in these topics for the good of all parties involved. Marcus keep up the good work!

RE: North Carolina Camping

Dan Nicholas Park near salisbury they have W/E only, Crosswinds campgraound in Linwood NC South of Lexington and Zooland Family Campground are three of our favorites in the area Though there are more. There is a low number of good state park campgrounds in NC I have to say SC does a great job with nice campgrounds in their state park system.

RE: 2006 Ram 2500 5.9 CTD

To the OP I bought my 2004.5 CTD 5 years ago and still can't stop smiling when hitched to the Fiver And Yep Like JaredWPhillips wrote changing the fuel filter on schedual and running a premium filter and dumping the water separator drain valve periodicaly is a must on the common rail CTD I also read the dodge forums and it is a small cost to keep my cummins running strong!

RE: This has always perplexed me...

Just me but it's my buissness when I leave. Just as long as I don't disturb my fellow campers while doing so is all I should have to worry about. It's called freedom!

RE: Smoke alarm chirping

I would buy a new one it's cheap insurance. Being a firefighter I see them save people and property quite often. I also see how quick an Rv can go up in flames. I just put a new Smoke/Carbon monoxide detector in my new fiver.

RE: Short bed guys (people), which slider do you like/use?

Superglide is the way to go! The gooseneck adapter goes on the Industy standard rails. Also another benfit to the standard rail model is that the hitch can go on anyones truck that has rails and vise versa.. so in case of you or someone else having a break down or if you just need someone else to pull your Fiver or you need to pull someone elses you can change only the hitch mech. I think it's pretty slick that way and was cheaper to.

RE: Dometic Power Awning problems

I have one of these and so far no trouble but I haven't been to Mrytle Beach with it yet with the winds and all. I can see where they could be a problem but I can't imagine the fabric stretching that much. It has good points but I would prefer a manual awning, if this one breaks it will be replaced with a manual awning! The manual can be tied down so it doesn't flap cause i like to leave mine up all day. We have alot of stuff That we have out under the awning and i hate to have to put everything up at night instead of when a storm is coming. Just my preference

RE: Towing a 33 ft Travel Trailer

Set The hitch up correctly and it will be a dream with that F350. Thats what that truck was made for ( handle big loads ). I agree thats some on hear gets wound up a little over big trailers but sometimes they may not read the op's signature and see the size tow vehicle. I have seen some combos on here that scared me a little, but you have nothing to worry about.

RE: Fifth Wheels What Do You Like About Them?

More room, Taller ceilings in living area, pulls much much better and lots more storage than our old TT I can go on but I think these are my major factors! should have bit the bullet 10 years ago.

RE: Hitch Choices and Suggestions

Searayder I love my superglide I bought the universal rail type 15K and it was a little cheaper than the standard superglide. I did this due to having family and friends with standard fiver hitches and we can interchange if one of us has to help the other out for some reason. I Know quite a few say that the slider is fine and I am sure it works well if careful but I don't like flirting with murphy! I know that I would have lost attention and bam somewhere down the road major expensive fix for cab and fiver.

RE: Running new wire from pin box to inside coach

I am having the same problem, well sorta I want to run larger wires from the pinbox electrical junction to the brakes (why they run 14 gauge when the axle manufacturer said minimum of 12 is beyond me) but getting the wire from the storage area to the pin box looks to be a beast without tearing the underside down so I may try what mtpockets1 said myself.

RE: Table in new fiver

We thought the same thing about the cherry wood table top in our new fiver but so far it's held up good. In time I will probably do what you are thinking of just as insurance.

RE: Transmission cooler; yea - nay.

Or you could by one of the coolers with a bypass that opens when the fluid temp get warm enough and bypasses when to cool.

RE: Myrtle Beach in July Air Conditioner question

You should be fine, our last TT was quiet large and had 13.5 AC at myrtle near 100 it would run constantly but was still comfortable in the day in full sun. Like the others said run a fan to stir the air some.

RE: Toyota Tundra 4.7 L v8 Tow Vehicle

I think you will be fine looks like you are well within the ratings. My sisters tundra with the 4.7 pulls their 26 ft hornet fine even though its pushing their limits, though they would have been happier with the 5.7L engine they mostly run flat lands to the coast and it is a plesure to tow with.
