RE: Secret of Grilling Chicken

There's a lot of good replies here, but the one you really need to pay attention to is a accurate meat thermomitor, it takes the guess work out of cooking all your meat, really good info here, not to metion a really good rib recipe!!

RE: Propane Extension

Mr dlos, what you are wanting to use is what I have beeen doing for many years, I take off one of my tanks, put the propane tree on it and put my lantern on, run a brinkman gas grill and a two burner Camp Chef stove. We camp mainly in the rockies, high elevation and have no problems.

RE: 1st Trip of the Season...and could've gone better

If you have 2 propane tanks up front, why not just remove one and use that, that is what we do, just don't need to carry the extra weight, trailer runs off of one tank! I hear you on allergies, my wife and I both have them, we would rather camp and be in misery than be at home in misery! rusty

RE: Open Range brand? Thoughts?

You are correct on the outside storage for the 303BHS, We bought this model back in Feb of 2012, my DW loves the floorplan, very spacious and there is plenty of storage inside. You will here horror stories about the cable operated slides,, they work great, just with any type of RV manufacturer, you will have problems, go to the OR forum and poke around, ask questions, of course they will be biased, over all we like this one the best, it will sleep 10 tight but 6 comfortable. from the PU, to the HTT to the Fiver, this one is the keeper! Hawk 15, I did exactly what you are doing, (except for coffe and toast,) movie at night, charge phone lap tops ect..what smkettner suggested was right on the money, that 15 amp auto swicth is the bomb, found my gen line (power to tv plug, and a couple of other outlets that I labeled to charge things. As he said frigde on propane, thats the way my coach is wired it's on the gen side of power. but all works well! and thanks mr Kettner for the tip!

Hi All.
Sorry to hear of your problems. But Hey, remember you got one heck of a deal buying those Cahmpion Generators. You also saved a lot of money too.
Sometimes, it just pays to "Bite the Bullet" and buy "Well Proven Generators", not matter what they cost.
Are you actually claiming that Honda generators do not experience some level of infant mortality? Are you claiming (in spite of what dozens of readers have reported) that the Honda equivalent generator will start and run with stale gas? Are you claiming that all genuine Honda repair centers provide excellent service and all service centers for other brands do not? Are you actually claiming that Champion generators are not well proven despite the fact that many, many members of this forum use them all the time without problems?
So one guy gets a generator that doesn't run right and it might actually be his fault for leaving stale gas in the carburetor. Does that prove the brand is no good and there is no such thing as good value?
Let me apply a little of your logic to my situation. I bought a Briggs and Stratton inverter generator a while back for about half what the going rate is for the Honda equivalent. It has run and performed flawlessly. According to your single sample reasoning, everyone who buys the Honda just wasted $500. Is that rational?

RE: Front Fold Out Horror

to clarify, my problem is that many forum member post here, that have no idea what a hybrid is, let alone the unique technical issues they may have.
i have no problem with them providing help with things that are common with all RVs, such as converter issues, sewage issues, warranty issues, towing issues and so forth, that are posted on the Hybrid forum. i welcome their help and knowledge.
but, when there are issues that are particular to hybrids and not to any other type of RV, then i feel it's not helpful and only complicates things.
personally, i don't post on the other forums for other types of RVs. not do i even visit those other RV-type specific forum.
i've never owned a MH or 5th wheel or TH or TC, so i feel that i have nothing to offer there. those are forums for owners of that particular type of RV and aren't generic forums.
i do post on the generic sections, such as Tech Issues or Towing because those deal with issues common to multiple types of RVs.
and i have some knowledge and experiences with those issues, that might help someone.
but i would never consider even going to the Class A forum, for example, and begin offering advice to those seeking help with their Class A, because i've never owned one nor have even rode in one.
Now we have arrogant Hybrid Police:(
