RE: Scan Guage and TPMS and camera mounting issues

My ScanGaugeII and TPMS monitor are small and mount out of the way. Rear view monitor is in the driver side sun visor. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d172/ronjhall/n_a.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d172/ronjhall/IMG_0646.jpg Sun visor mount is not always the best. But does work well when backing up.

RE: Scan gauge II Question

The OBDII data usually gets it power from the same fuse as the cigarette lighter receptacle. Change the fuse, you should be OK. ScangaugeII had a software update last year that makes it much better than the original. $25 to send it in for the update.

RE: Slideout Topper replacement help

Slide topper fabric is the same for either A&E or Carefree. Even if you get material too long it can be trimmed shorter. Here is one place to order it from and you do not need the numbers. Just the length. MakariosRV.com

RE: AT&T Hotspot question

My I phone puts a new every time Hotspot is turned off then back on. I am at 143 today. When I want the best connection I use the USB cable. Turn WI-FI off to use this connection.

RE: Any ideas to improve gas mileage

We have the 8.1L, 9.0 mpg (sometimes a little more, some times a little less) is our normal mileage. We drive between 55 and 60mph, use Mobile one 5/30wt synthetic Oil, E load range tires running 75lbs front and 70lbs rear. Next time I replace tires I am going to rib tires instead of all season. The rib tires provide better mileage. Might get it up to 9.5mpg. Hate the mpg, but love the engine. Don't drive fast, but don't slow down on hills anymore unless there are curves or road conditions. Its nice to sit back and let those ponies do their thing. Seems that keeping the speed up moves more air across the engine and transmission radiators so I feel more comfortable that things stay cooler and the engine just feels happier. I have to ask. You have a 8.1 in your 23' Jayco class C?

RE: Wiring

Red Blue and Green is a Component hook up. Just hook up one end to the DVD. Other end to TV. You may also have to install red and white audio cable from DVD to TV.

RE: Ordered wrong LED upgrades.

Break the glass part of 1141 lights off. Then solder one of the connectors in the kit to the center and outside of BA15 base.

RE: Any ideas to improve gas mileage

I recently purchased a 2008 Gulf Stream Endura with the 8.1L engine. Looking for gas mileage tips, I done the usual tire pressure and tune up. Plan on changing to synthetic oil. I was told not to expect much more than 7 to 8 mpg....does anyone have any other ideas? Is there a Class C Gulf Strean Endura group of RVers out there? The mileage above is about the best you will get with your Endura. Our Diesel has average 10.3 over 60,000 miles. Staying close to 60 mph will help. Check the Kodiak Chassis Forum in my signature. Lots of info and help there on all the Kodiak based MH's.

RE: plastic rear window magnifier

How does it work? Does it make a rear view mirror useful? I use the rear view mirror and rear window wide angle lens to view my toad. Also helps to see when it's clear to change lanes.

RE: plastic rear window magnifier

For those wanting information on how to install Fresnel rear window wide angle lens. How to install. * Apply the quality lens to the inside of the rear window near the bottom edge. * Make sure window is clean, then wet it with water * Apply smooth side of lens on the inside of window * Remove air bubbles from the lens * Hold firmly in place for a few seconds. * The lens will turn crystal clear until be peeled off.

RE: plastic rear window magnifier

Mine has been on the inside of the rear window for 4 or 5 years. Just followed package directions with no problems.

RE: Replacing Suburban cooktop

I had a Magic Chef and converted to Suburban. Not much better. Also have a new Suburban that has everything but some of the connectors. You can have whatever you want from that unit if you cannot find a household unit that will work. It does not have a igniter.

RE: Replacing Suburban cooktop

I your complaint is about the igniter. You may want to look at this thread. Electronic Ignition for Stovetop (w/pics)

RE: Tow dolly

You should have brakes on the dolly. Our Demco Kar Kaddy has hydraulic brakes. Just need light wiring. I installed separate bulbs in the rear taillights of our toad. Less hassle to hook up.
