RE: Curious why WD hitches are so important on TT's

The discussion of use of WD hitches with boat trailers is interesting. Many boat trailers have surge brakes because the wheels get submerged periodically. Personally, I have never seen a boat trailer with electric brakes but that doesn't mean there aren't some. The point is that using s WD hitch on a trailer with surge brakes will prevent the brakes from functioning.

RE: Black water into home septic tank?

I've dumped into a cleanout at my property for many years. I use a formaldehyde based chemical. I have never had a problem. Just had the septic tank pumped after 6 yrs. of trailer dumping and I was told it didn't really need it. I think the needed piece of data is that few people dump into their septic system every weekend for months at a time. I prefer formaldehyde chems for the simple reason that they work. YMMV. We probably need to dump at home perhaps 3 times a year at most. The other piece of needed data is dosing amounts. Folks often add far more chem than is needed. Read the bottle!
