RE: It happened again!

I had one close call years ago, but have been lucky ever since. I always LOOK at the hitch jaws and MAKE certain they have wrapped around the pin. Second, I put the lock down on the handle so it cant move out and open the jaws..
thats one of my fears is to have the 5th come crashing down on the bed rails..

RE: Vacation Idea near Las Vegas, NV

I was just looking for places in Nv. to camp. Looks like Elko co, north of you had a lot of lakes and water, but nothing closer. That would be 2-4 hours for you.

RE: Buying a new RV-TH need info

My RV buying idea went out the window after LaMesa Rv said my current Rv, a 2007 Forest river Sierra Sport F40spts was only worth 11K.
Mind you, its a 3 slide, 40' 3 axle 2 a/c fully loaded with satellite, solar panels etc in near mint cond. Its been in covered storage since I owned it.
I'll keep my 11k Rv for a bit longer..:)

RE: Fuel transfer Tank

I had a pump on a 60 gal unit on my first dually. Worked good so long as I "turned it off" when done. Otherwise it would overflow and dribble onto the street.I left a 15 mile trail of diesel all the way thru Phoenix to a RV park years ago, right into the parking spot ....
The next tank I bought was the 98 gal one from Northern tool. I hooked it up on gravity feed to the over flow tube on the truck tank. Works great. If i forget to turn it off, no harm, and "no trail"..LOL

Buying a new RV-TH need info

Its been a long time for me since I bought a new RV. I have forgotten the bare basics.
I recall cut 20-25% off MSRP to start???
There was also several free publications one can read about factory costs, dealer cost etc.
Any help appreciated.

Cyclone 3950 or Road Warrior 395?

Been peaking at both these units lately. Same units slightly different layout.
I like the 2nd bath a lot. Keeps kids out of the main. One has a fridge in garage other not. Was the fridge worth the cost or never used?
The loft ladder looks totally useless...
What is a decent price for each unit? I see they both MSRP 70K up. Checking Trader and not seeing many around to compare prices.
They both have 12" frames is good. I've read Lipperts?
Any good, bad or ugly info would be appreciated. Small issues always come up. I guess one of my concerns is, does Heartland go the extra mile to get things fixed or poo poo your issues until you go away?
I read one post with a 2010 model was a nightmare, anothers was great...
Thanks in advance.

Boulders OHV is a excellent area for beginers to advanced. They have a area fenced for kids too.

RE: Advice on 4 wheel ATV

Before you buy, do yourself a favor and rent a "2UP" atv as they are called, 450cc. Use a rental trailer just this once.
Find an area you can ride with the wife and spend 4-6 hours riding.Bring lunch/drinks etc.
Then rent a SxS Rino type and do the same. When you get through, ask yourself which one you enjoyed more?
That will make your purchase easier.

RE: buy new rv out of state

I always check www.traderonline.com and look nationwide to see what prices are . Some guys ask 10K more then the next.
Its my understanding that all the dealers pay the same price. Maybe a little more in transport fees, bt not 10K more then the next guy.
That gives me a good number to work with with dealing with the sellers.

RE: 2 guys and a RZR missing

My heart goes out to the families of both whom passed. I can only hope in their loss, that other families don't have to suffer the same fate and heartbreak and that those two young men did not die in vein.
God Bless.

RE: confused on what to do

Just a "Hint from Heloise" here.
Had I actually sat on the "Thrown"(toilet) in my current 5th Th, I would not have bought it.At 6-2 300, I bang my head into the wall when finishing up. Not fun.
I thought all shower stalls offered in RV's were the same small size that tall people cannot bend over and wash their legs etc?

RE: Did a walk thru on a XLR 35X12 Thunderbolt...-WOW

I usually look on RV trader nationwide to find low prices and see what options they have on them.
That tells me where I should start with the dealer, as they all pay the same price.
I plan, if it works out to get a unit with what I want, fuel tanks etc, 1 a/c, 4K gen, Arctic package and electric couch in garage.
I think I have seen similar units for less then 50K. The salesman who gave me the prices may have been trying to entice me, but it was a awful lot of RV for less then 50K he was selling.
I just checked RV trader for a 300x12 and found on with more options then I want for 44K in Virginia. Another in Oklahoma for 59K.
Now I know the one I want should not cost me more then 44K or so.
