RE: New Camper

We saw some beautiful Open Range models at the Hershey show. One even had patio option with sliding doors to the living area! Congrats on your new unit!

RE: Hershey PA. RV Show

We went a couple years ago and will go again this year, even though we aren't in the market for a new RV. It is really large...last time we went, we concentrated on TT's since that's what we were interested in. If you try to look at everything, you'll never make it through.

RE: How would you handle...?

We had a similar experience. Our site backed up to a pond, with steps from a retaining wall that led down to the grassy area around the pond. We knew other campers needed access to the steps but never expected them to walk right through our site. They cold have gone behind out TT then onto the retaining wall, but I guess that extra few feet was too much for them. People were walking right through our circle of chairs around our fire pit, while DH was having coffee and reading a magazine! They also just cut through the site right in front of the patio (under the awning). Finally dh asked them to go behing the TT instead of right throught our site. They didn't like that. They finally stopped cutting through when one of their little girls tripped over our dogs tie-out and got scraped up on the gravel.

RE: Success using the oven in your RV?

I actually already have a pizza stone! For those of you who use them, do you just place it on the cooking rack and use it instead of metal pans? My rack is just above the heating element. I've found that nothing gets cooked on the top- a pizza crust will cook, but the cheese doesn't melt or rolls cook on the bottom but remain doughy on top. Will the stone help with this?

Success using the oven in your RV?

I'v tried baking cresent rolls and pizza in our TT oven, never with much success. Things get burned on the bottom while remaining uncooked on top. Any suggestions on ways to help the oven cook more evenly? Or, what have you cooked successfully in your oven?

RE: Rockwood Signature Ultra Light

We have a 2009 Rockwood SUL 8317 and love it so far. It seems very well built, lots of storage, comfortable, and nice looking! We've had only a few minor problems, and no warranty issues. I'd go with Rockwood again too.

RE: Not as friendly campers

We're campingin NY right now, and while not alot of people are out because of how hot it is, those that have been out have been friendly. Also found that to be the case in Mass as well.

RE: Passenger limit?

You definitely need a seat belt for each passenger. As far as campgrounds go, I've seen many state a limit to how many people can occupy a site. You could try to say 6, but if they find out you'd be kicked out.

I agree Bucky. We use both dvd's and streaming. The price increase is a bit much. Not sure what we're going to do yet...

RE: Any adult beverages while overnighting at Walmart?

We've gone into Walmart to purchase our beers and then had them in our TT in the lot. It's business for them, enjoyment for us!

RE: Bunk or No Bunk?

We have two kids, boy 15 and girl 13 and we got a Rockwood with quad bunks. The kids sleep in the wider bunks and use the narrower bunks for storing their gear and for bringing friends. As our kids became teens they also began balking at going camping. So getting the quad bunks and having friends along is a way to keep them happy and enjoying our time away.

RE: Yogi bear rv resort

Ive been to the Quarryville one three times for their paintball weekends. I really like that campground, even if you aren't doing paintball. Lots of activities for the kids, although we've never been there in the summer when the water park is open. I've also been the the one in Luray, VA and it was also really nice. I've never heard them play music over the loud speaker at either of them.

We'll be at Keen Lake north of Scranton, PA for a long weekend. I know it's probably going to be jam packed. I hope I don't regret this!!

RE: Keeping the Awning Clean

Here is the "secret" recipe that works for me:
1 a cup of dish detergent.
1/2 a cup of TSP (can be found at paint shops, used to clean brushes).
1 cup of Bleach(any kind)
All in bucket 3-5 Gallons of warm water.
Use soft brush to apply on top and bottom of the awning, roll in,wait 10 -15 minutes, unroll and rinse,it will be like NEW.
On my first time I did not believe my eyes.
I'd love to try this. Our TT sits next to our garage and side yard- do you think it will have any effect if is gets on the grass?

RE: Black tank fell out if it's brackets...

It's fixed! Took all day, but at least it's done. Luckily DH travels with two jacks and tools. He was able to jack up the tank and get it back on the beams that hold it and then resecure the beams. What a way to spend a gorgeous Saturday!
