RE: I just got back from having a direct dish installed

Your DirectTV HD will operate on one cable, it is probably a SWM system and there will be a power inserter in the system to power the switches. You should be OK, enjoy your new system, I envy you!

RE: colo springs & grand junction rv park suggestions

In Colorado Springs I would recommend the Cheyenne Mountain State Park. In Grand Junction I recommend the Fruita/Island Park State Park, is right off the highway. We usually stop at Cedar City or St. George when we travel west. Good Luck, Enjoy!

RE: accidentally plugged in 240v to 120v camper....Help!!!

Hope your neighbor electrician can give you a hand with your problems. Not likely any damage to anything not turned on at the time. You need to check the converter, the electric water heater may have been on also. A/C should be ok if you were not running it at the time. You will need professional help from a rv repair place to check everything out and make repairs/replacements. Could be expensive, hope you have a good insurance policy. Also, get rid of that receptacle you were able to plug into, it is not safe, have your electrician check your rv male plug also, it should not have mated with a 240 v receptacle. Good Luck! Retired electrician!

RE: route co.springs to grand junction,co

We usually go N on I25, then I470, then I70 the rest of the way. Very scenic and usually the fastest. Enjoy! Why are you leaving Colorado Springs?

RE: What is your favorite pass in Colorado?

All are "favorites" and the scariest is the one with snow on it!

RE: Dish for HD reception

Just remember on the Slimline 3 you will need a power inserter in the line. Then everything runs on one cable. Good Luck!

RE: Cheyenne Mountain State Park

Mid to late Sept is probably the best time to view the Aspen leaves changing. The weather through October is usually great, mild and sunny. Enjoy!

RE: Moth infestation

Miller moths, just open the doors, eventually they leave, they do no harm.

RE: Directv with DNS on One Account. Is it Possible?

You will probably need to set up a seperate account for the rv.

RE: Slideout Problem

If it is a Lippert slide out, go to the Lippert internet site and start reading the fixes for various problems. There is one field fix for a gear jumping the cogs because of too much play. Worked nicely on mine and not too difficult to perform. Good luck!

RE: Magellan 9165T-LM

Nice thread??? Just purchased one from CW, just love it so far. Does everything our Garmin did and then some. Waited for the Rand McNally to drop their price, guess that is not to be. I had a Magellan before and really liked many of the features, sure we will love this one. Will write a follow-up after we get a chance to use it a few times. Enjoy rv'ing.

Not a bad highway at all, very scenic. If you have the time, stop a few days at Mesa Verde National Park. Enjoy your visit!

RE: Seeking suggestions for Southern Colorado...

Navajo Lake State Park is one of our favorites, it has full hookups and big-rig friendly pull thru sites. Less than an hour from Durango. Enjoy! Mesa Verde National Park is a must-see. Take a tour bus up to Silverton and catch the train back down to Durango, plan on an all-day trip. Chimney Rock is within 30 minutes of Navajo Lake State Park, worth a trip.

RE: Tripping main breaker at the meter

If he goes through the step by step procedure I prescribed for him, when he turns on the circuit breaker for his water heater that problem will become apparent, if that element is burned out and shorted to ground (unlikely) it will trip that circuit breaker. Trust me. When measuring resistance on the man's rv cord all the circuit breakers should be turned off, you cannot get a parasitic load if the breakers are all off.
