RE: Anyone have experience with Portable Ice Makers?

Ordered one thru Walmart a few years back - like others, it takes a gallon of water, and when you keep feeding it....you have plenty of ice. At the price they charge for a small bag of ice...it has been a great investment. We use it at home for cookouts and gatherings also. Safe travels.

RE: A good RV dealer

It is great to hear the positives of Dealers - the bad ones seem to be everywhere. I also bought through RVD in '04, picked up a RT 190P is Elkhart....and it was the most positive experience I had ever had - with any vehicle. Ironic, but I have never been back to a Dealer. Enjoy the deal and safe travels.

RE: Fredricksburg Va. /Virginia Beach

In Virginia Beach, the Science Museum, which is not far from the Travel L Park is well worth the visit. The Beaches are really nice; the Park has a shuttle the runs to and from the Beach - that is super for RV'ers. If your so inclined, you can head into Norfolk and visit the Battleship Winconsin, along with Nauticus Marine & Science Ctr and the Chyrsler Museum is really a nice place to visit. Safe travels.

RE: Roadtrek 190 or 210

We looked at both when we bought in '05, and the cost difference for the 210 couldn't be justified. When we looked, like Booster said, it is heavier, little longer, but no great gain in closet space....again, not for that cost. Another thing, the 190's don't incur extra charge at Ferries, and have the footprint of a car, which allow you to park wherever a car does. My final thing is, I have a friend who had a 210, he was in a accident - wow!! That fiberglass body got smacked and caused problems with cabinet alignment and window and door problems. Safe travels.

RE: Florida Snow birding cost

Get the Book of SP Campgrounds and start trying to make reservations - NOW!! It is amazing how fast it fills up. We used to live in VA, left mid-October and returned late May....moving from SP to SP...down one coast and up the other - it was great. The wife went on line and made the reservations. Likeed it so much we now live there, ha! Safe travels.

RE: Buying our first travel trailer....questions

You will love your choice. Don't let the Salesman influence your choice...if their lips move they are lying!!! There are hundreds of horror stories about the first buy nightmare - don't make yours that way.....read, research and read some more. Enjoy, safe travels.

RE: Did you ever do something truely stupid to your computer?

Nah, I am not smart enough to take one apart......techs get that job!! Doing something stupid with your computer was the question - does throwing it over a cliff qualify? It was a relatively new Dell about 8 years ago (when my temper was not sooooo good!) It is amazing the things that change your attitude and temperment, ha!! Oh yeah, I am still married, but ever so humble! Safe travels.

RE: Buying a new trailer

Might think about dropping into the lot of the Sportsman Dealer....do a walk thru, ask a lot of questions, but don't show an eagerness. Since you know the one you are interested in, but he don't, see what offer he will make it you bought it. Oftentimes you can get a Dealer right before a show and he will want to sell rather than haul it to the show. Safe travels.

RE: Want to kill myself because....

The one saving grace to it all....you didn't whop a tree or something in a campground or park and have lots of folks looking on!!!! Now why would I say something like that, ha!! Safe travels.

I love the comment about the potholes; today they are renting them out - they are big enough for a family of four to live in. Safe travels.

RE: No Title!!!

Ah, I remember being told to get out of a VA DMV (Mustang Trl) many years ago. Like others, I feel your pain. I would suggest you go to a small town with a DMV, they are usually more patient, less hasseled and probably provide some assistance. How about you asking how you can be #14 on their list (the devil made me say that). Good luck and safe travels.

Bumper consideration is paramount, but that much weight could seriously affect road manners, especially on corners. Safe travels.

RE: Camping World Poor Customer Service

Have heard this for other CW places. I have heard, and experienced their bad service, along with customer service. I quit using them about 5 years ago, you can't get their attention with calls and e-mails, so if we don't shop there or use their repair facilities - it has to have some bottom line recognition. Safe travels.

RE: Raleigh RV Show was a bust

"We'll show you what we want, you will be satisfied" - seems to be the prevailing wind with these guys.
If we just quite going for awhile, they will get the message. They can pay for the site, absorb the loss...someday they'll get the idea! Haven't been to one in the last couple of years, since the downturn in the industry. As for CW, they have to put on a major presence.....they have tons of RV's. Safe travels.
