RE: Generator on sale belching fire?

Me personally, there are far to many generators out there, and not plaqued by problems. Safe travels.

Hillsbourough SP is good anytime. Prior to moving to FL, we spent the winters (2wks at a time) at various parks throughout the State. Nice photos of the family. Safe travels.

RE: Bad experience with Seafoaming a generator...

I have been using it in the Honda and never have any problems. Matter of fact, I don't even bother with Sta-Bil, the Seafoam keeps my systems clean in three generators and outboards. Safe travels.

RE: Ford on top again.

Yeah, Plastic Corp (aka Chrysler) was on the dole also. Remember way back when....we said the vehicle sounded "like tin" - now it is like very expensive plastic. Safe travels.

RE: wondering if i should buy a 82 winnebago chieftain

Welcome aboard. Since you are mechanically adapted, you will be able to handle anything it throws at you. But as discussed, the price line should be the NADA - he has to sell, you don't have to buy...cash talks. Keep us posted on your progress in bring the ole girl home. Safe travels.

RE: surge protector locks

I have the lock, it's on, but question it's security worthiness. I curled the original cord up, hooked the surge guard to it, then have a 30 amp Extension Cord from Walmart, that it is run to the pole. My thought was "out of sight, out of mind" if someone had "light fingers." Safe travels.

RE: Harbor Freight 800W Generator?

As for duration - check out U-Tube; folks demonstrating maintenance, etc., and some have been using them for upwards of 5 years. They are 2 cycle, so they are going to be loud, but if you need it for a small thing, I'd have to look at them. Safe travels.

RE: Why to retailers have poor customer service?

Someone mentioned that stores give poor service because they are stupid; I have to disagree in part.....we, as customers, allow it to happen to us. During the summer, I was shopping in a small store that had just the item I had been long searching for....and I got the owner as the salesperson. I said hello, you know, the pleastantries, and he gave me the "you bore me" look and said, you want anything else.....in a tone that really got my attention. I came right out and said I thought you could show a little more appreciation for customers making over $100.00 purchase in his store....total blank face. He said again, you want anything else, I said no, so he rang it up, didn't offer a bag......and I told him I changed my mind - along with a few other comments. I told myself that day, I wasn't going to put up with rude service any longer - now I have to figure out how to stop it on the phone. Safe travels.

RE: Gaston Lake, NC

I concur in checking out the State (both NC&VA) Parks, along with Rudd's, they are always clean, well managed and the staff most accomodating. AmeriCamps is at Exit 4 of I-5. They have beautiful waterfront lots, staff is great and there are a few stores at the exit ramp and further down the road past AmeriCamp. I won't comment on Encore...nugh said. Safe travels.

RE: Anyone have opinion on CB radio?

Installed one about 7 years ago; we were in a bad storm, that turned out to be a tornado, in AL, and didn't have a clue of the serverity of the weather. Reflecting on it, we couldn't have counted on the cellphone, and radio, where am I????? We found a truck stop and had a Cobra with the Weather Stations installed. We turn it on, keep the volume really low, but it will let you know the weather in your given area - and that to us is priceless. I must admit, it helped when we come upon backed up traffic on I-95, we had a chance to avoid sitting for hours. Safe travels.

RE: small computer printers

Check out Walmart, Staples, Office Max and the like - they have low end black&white printers that are great for on the road. Like you, we have a MacPro, but on the road we bring along a cheapie printer and it fills our needs. Safe travels.
