RE: how to tell wdh rating on used hitch

No, no factory tow package. I installed a controller and 7 pin connector. 3.73 rear end on my '96 Explorer. My manual says my GCWR is 9500 for the 6 cyl. 4 door automatic with 3.73 and a trailer range of 0-5300(3500/350 tongue weight if using only the rear bumper ball), and to use a frame mounted WDH for any trailer over 3500 lbs.
For how that boy performed pulling that Casita over mountain passes is why I was considering the 3600 lb. trailer. The hitch weight of 530 was what put me off.

how to tell wdh rating on used hitch

Just by chance I found a used Cherokee 18dd at a dealer. It's 3600 dry, and my research indicates a hitch weight of about 530 lbs. My drawtite hitch is rated at 500, or 750 with a wdh. The trailer comes with an eaz-lift round bar wdh, but how do I tell it's weight rating ??? I know I would be asking alot of my Explorer with 5300 tow capacity, and the truck zipped over the sierras and Rockies with a 2500 lb. Casita I had. I don't have any wdh experience.

anyone with a wildwood 18bhxl out there ?

The nearest one to me is about 230 miles away. This is the floor plan I want, and I'm sure my 6 cyl Explorer can handle it after how it flew over the Sierras, Hwy 50 passes and Utah pulling a 2500 lb Casita I should not have sold.
Looking for opinions, good or bad.
Thanks
