RE: Windshield sun cover??????

The screen really does not help with the heat. In my opinion they are only good to keep other people from looking into your coach. Actually for keeping heat and cold out of your coach the best thing are double lined drapes. They cost more, but well worth it and they look nicer then the screens. Screens take away a lot of the beauty of some coaches. JMHO Our screens are black and they ARE very good at keeping the heat out, although not as good as double lined drapes. The screens let light in and you can see out, unlike drapes.

RE: Hunter Mountain, NY

I should have said Hunter Mountain is a geological feature, it is not a town, village or city. I personaly know the family that owns the ski slope on Hunter Mountain, It has been a standing joke that people think it is a minusapality.

RE: Hunter Mountain, NY

There is nothing close to Hunter, although they used to have hookup at the mountain I don't believe they work anymore. The nearest place I know of is Brookside CG in Palenville (it may be listed as Catskill) Good luck

RE: BlueBerry Hill

Unless it has been sold again since last October Blue Berry Hill was sold to Morgan RV Resorts. They have changed it to a NASCAR Resort. Many of the long time people have been upset by the way Morgan runs things and have found another new camp ground in Bushnell. Blue Berry Hill was one of our favorites.

RE: Is there a LARGE RV event like Quartzsite on the East Coast

jassrnj- One thing you should do is join FMCA, they have some great rallies. I would also recomend joining some local chapters. One chapter we belong to has a labor day rally every year, lots of people from PA,NJ,NY and many other places come and have a great time. An add is usualy in the June FMC magazine.

RE: tire gauges

It used to be posible to have your tire gauges checked by RVSEF at conventions and RV shows but they stopped doing that on advise of thier lawyers.

RE: GPS that allows you to pick EXACTLY what roads you want

My IWay 500 by Lowrance does or did exactly what the OP wants. But mine quit talking and Lowrance dose not service or make anything but nautical equipment any longer. I have been looking for a replacement for a long time but have had no luck. I miss my Iway. Ray

RE: which steering product would be better?

You might check out IPD sway bars at their site for some good information. You'll have to Google it as I don't have the site anymore. I used thier bars on my last MH and it made a huge difference. Good luck.

RE: Uprade to tile floor

One thing many do not consider is the added wieght of tile and grout. I opted to go with Alure and we love it. It is a fun job for the DIY. Worse part is removeing the old carpets 5,000 staple per square foot. Merry Christmas.

RE: Winegard Wingman

You don't need a converter if you have a flat screen TV. And yes it is worth it. I'm in a fringe area OTA reception has always been horible. I changed to flat screen and was able to get 1 chanel after wingman was added I got 12. Merry Christmas

RE: winter trip from NY to Florida

For the little water we use when traveling south in winter we use a couple gallons of fresh H2O for drinking and washing and have a few gallons of H2O mixed with RV anti freeze for flushing. That way there is no worry if you should have a break down. It shouldn't take only a day or so to reach warmer weather. JMHO

RE: Ants

The main ingrediant in most ant poison is Boric Acid. I've used boric acid for years and it works. For some places where it is hard to get the powder to stay I mix it with H2O in a spray bottle. When the ants are gone just wipe up the white resadue.

RE: New Toad - To Brake Assist or not Brake Assist

I'm a firm believer in aux brakeing on any towed. It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

RE: Help! Quick! LP gas problems...FIXED IT..thanks!

Nothing like waiting until the last minute to check out all your systems. You need 12VDC to run the frig on LP.

RE: Selling used 22.5" tires

I got $75 each from my dealer for the last ones I replaced, plus Goodyear had a $25 rebate on the new ones so I saved $100 on each.

RE: Have you ever been asked to leave? (no not an RV Park)

I was told I couldn't park at Turning Stone Casino in Upstate NY. We only wanted to go in for breakfast and maybe feed the machines, not more than a couple of hours. We parked where the busses park and we have parked many times before. Guess they have enough money they don't need RVers.
