RE: California Gas Nozzles

Living in San Diego, I've used many gas stations in the area. There are a few that just can't pump gas into the Sea Breeze, and I don't know exactly why. I just avoid them, and go to a station where the pump works properly. Must be something to do with the interface of the pump nozzle and gas cap area - that triggers the shut-off on the pump.

RE: Anyone Been to the Pomona RV Show?

Went there a few years ago. Seems geared to the "1%" crowd - FMC types.

RE: Installing Roof Mounted Solar Panel(s)

Some quick advice:
The first hole is the hardest, it's easier to drill them as you proceed.
Do anchor with screws in the roof. The wind can be fierce.
Make sure the panels tilt - much more efficient - especially in the winter.
Use the heaviest wire possible. I used oo2 welding cable for battery connections.
Enjoy !

Strange house / chassis battery problem

Have a 2004 Sea Breeze.
I discovered that it is starting solely using the house battery! I discovered this after camping in the desert and trying to start the unit. The starter just clicked. I checked the voltage for the chassis battery, and it indicated 13.1 volts, while the house batteries were down to less than 12 volts. So I assumed it was the starter going bad. After putting a new starter on, it still wouldn't start. Further checking indicated that there was no juice going from the chassis battery, and I acutally jumped the house battery from the chassis battery to achieve an engine start.
What's up? Is the solinoid that connects the battery systems through the Emergency Start button somehow stuck? If so, how would it manage to cut-out the chassis battery completely?
This is funny - recently it wouldn't start again because the house batteries were low. So I started the genny, running for a while, then successfully started the motorhome!
Thanks for any advice or insight.

RE: 1999 Dolphin MH purchase

One of the reasons we purchased a 31 ft. Seabreeze vs. a 35 footer is the difference in CCC (cargo carrying capacity). Our weight info. sticker was in the upper cabinet over the driver. Check the numbers carefully....

One word: Toyo's
Good price, long wear, and problems are rare.

RE: Used 22.5 unmounted spare

After lots of searching, I stopped at Camping World. They had several 22.5's out back and said to help myself....

RE: Satellite Internet for only occasional use?

I had a Datastorm internet satellite for years. It was especially good for the boonies. But - it drove me nuts stopping and restarting service. Apparently the settings change over time - such as satellite transponders etc., and getting up and operating after several months of inactivity was difficult. I finally trashed it and got a Verison Mifi card. Hooked to a Wilson amplifier and trucker antenna, it works very well in most cases. A lot easier than the Datastorm.
