RE: Black Water Tank - Emptying

Thank you all for the information and suggestions! My son will be very happy to hear that we can take this trip. If I'd heard that it wasn't advisable to leave "stuff" in the tank for a week then it may have been off. Thanks again!

RE: Black Water Tank - Emptying

Have you ever read about The Geo Method?
Some use the Geo Method, some use just water and some use chemicals.
Try them all and decide which is best for you.
Yes, I'd read about it before bit it was good to read it again! Thank you!

Black Water Tank - Emptying

I plan to "boondock" (I guess it's called) this weekend. No place to dump my tanks. I will be heading out again next week (on Monday) and will have a place to dump. Will I be OK leaving my black/gray water tanks with contents (probably not a lot as there are only two of us and other "options" available for most of the time) for just over a week? Unfortunately the weather is hot but hopefully won't be too hot for the week. If this is not totally ridculous for me to consider, any tips on what I should do for odor control, etc.? Thanks very much.

RE: AC/DC TV

I ended up with a regular one and will get an inverter eventually. We don't go places without service much so it seemed like the best option. Thanks again everybody for all of the input, information and suggestions!

RE: AC/DC TV

Seems like the inverter would be a more expensive option (considering I have to buy a TV as well) than to simply purchase an actual AC/DC TV.

AC/DC TV

We sometimes camp at a campground that does not have hookups. We do, however, like to have a TV. Is the best bet an AC/DC TV or is there an inverter/converter that will work for this purpose?

RE: Anode Rod Question

Well, not yet! No water going through it though!! Haven't even had the chance to take it out yet. :-( My previous camper didn't have one, just a cap so this is a new thing for me.

Anode Rod Question

I have a TT with a Suburban water heater. I recently replaced the anode rod with one which is supposed to be for a Suburban heater. It is 9 1/2 inches long. It will not screw all the way in. It is definitely tight, won't go in any more, but there are threads still showing. Is this correct? If not what could I have done wrong? I know it's a Suburban and the one I got is definitely for Suburbans.
