RE: Home phone number

Until you need 911.. cell phones don't give emergency personnel an exact location. Cell phones do tell them where you are ... they use gps location by triangulation of cell towers.. The gov can track you any time they want with your cell phone Putz

RE: Costco 6V Golf Cart batts went up in price!

Batteries manufactured in maybe a couple of places do not manufacture only one grade of battery... I have a close friend that retired from a major battery manufacturer, batteries many come out of the same factory, but make no mistake they have more than one grade of battery, more like 3 or 4 grades, depending how much the retailer wants to sell their battery for .. Just sayin' Putz

RE: E-470 I-470 Around Denver - warning

last year they switched over to license plate pay. Which means if you have their transponder you pay a reduced rate, those without pay more, The booths were taken out but the camera stations remain, taking a picture of each plate that crosses the old booth position. They do have signs of the rates posted, and yes with anything gov't these days the rates are much more.. Putz

RE: Must Have Boondocking Survival Items?

When we boondock, I like to enjoy a campfire, using the electric chainsaw (stealthy) to cut firewood. And do some good old fashion wood fire cooking. saving LP fuel to stay warm at night in the mountains. Putz

RE: Gas Stations

It is for the card issuers protection but it is also not a scam. That is just their limit for non signed transactions. If the gas station allows higher that is fine but if the transaction turns out to be fraudulent than it will result in a charge back to the station. When we charge a customers card for a purchase, the processor (middleman between the credit card company and the merchant)will instantly let the merchant know if the card is good, If not good it is declined immediately. Retailers do not deal directly with the credit card companies, they are required to go through an approved processor. (who collects the fees.) I may be wrong about gas stations.. but I understand they are independent business owners like others. I have studied a few contracts, most that I have seen, the credit card company takes responsibility for any bad purchases. I suppose If the retailer has bad credit, there could be a charge back provision. We have had a merchant agreement for credit card sales for 17 years and have never had a charge back ever mentioned or issued to us. for either the retail store or the internet store. Every time the card is swiped there is a processing fee and a percentage of the sale collected. requiring doing it multiple times increases their income. The signing of the receipt is a joke, it does not go any further than the retailers file. Putz http://emoticons4u.com/cartoon/1224.gif

RE: Gas Stations

me thinks, ... the limits (which the daily limits can be raised if you call them) are for the credit card company's protection (not us as they will tell you), and every time the card is swiped the credit card company gets another set of fees to charge the stations thus doubling their profit for folks with larger tanks. Another bank scam in my book. Putz http://emoticons4u.com/cartoon/1224.gif
