RE: Convert your RV’s propane water heater to gas/electric

We installed the HOT ROD in our Atwood heater in 1998 and still have it today. Besides the rod going in the drain hole, you have a thermostat control that you stick on the tank and need to have electic connection nearby. We run an extension cord from the water heater to an outlet. We clean the scale off the rod about every six months.

RE: Re-coating a MH roof - What did you use?

We used either liquid roof or liquid rubber, not sure. Both are the same products but one is more expensive than the other. A messy job but worth it.

RE: Waste odor while driving

I have found that putting stoppers in the drains helps. Water may come out of the traps causing the oders to enter the bathroom.

RE: 99 bounder transfer switch

It is a box attached to the back of the fuse panel that is over the dinette, not sure where the fuse panel is located on your RV. The trantransfer switch is about 4" X 6" X 3". We chnged our because we were not getting power to the Rv from the generator. The problem was a voltage regulator on the generator.

RE: 99 bounder transfer switch

We have a 1996 Bounder 34J and found the transfer switch on the back of the fuse panel over the dinette. Not easy access and short wires to deal with.

RE: Time Delay Relay/Transfer Switch

I had a similar problem with my Onan 5500 gas generator on our 1996 Bounder. Changed the transfer switch no luck. The problem was the voltage regulator. Good luck.

RE: DIY window replacement

Not too difficult a job. Need two people, one inside and one outside. Remove all the screws on the inside and push the window to the person outside. I only replace the glass not the frame and used butal tape between the frame and motorhome. I have to do 4 more this summer. Good luck.

RE: A different way to deal with foggy dual panes?

Sometimes the glass becomes etched between the panes, not very easy to clean.

RE: EDPM roof coating

The product goes under two names, Liquid Rubber and Liquid Roof. One states for RV's, the other none specific. When I purchased mine I asked what the difference was, NONE only the one for RV's has a garrauntee and higher price, same product.

We have owned our 1996 Bounder 34J since 1998.We have put on about 50000 miles. Since then we ourselves replaced fogged windows, recoated rubber roof, replaced toilet bowl, oven, hydraulic jack control board, automatic transfer switch, new led tv's, and batteries. Work performed by others, brakes, front tie rod, generator voltage regulator and carpeting.

On our 1996 Bounder it is located behind the fuse panel that is in a cabinet over the dinette.
