RE: Advice on an rv trip from los angeles to west vancouver

hi snap
not sure of your route, but you could take 101 north through oregon and washington, then across the top of washington to port townsend, where there is a ferry over to whidby island, then up into vancouver
we've spent lots of time on the oregon coast - wonderful ocean and GREAT state parks
as bob notes - lots to do here in vancouver area (it is an active outdoors city)
have fun!

RE: Canadians travelling in U.S. & Canada - Internet Question

hi wanda
we are from canada
phone is with rogers and have a 'north american plan'
no problems going into the states (as noted, iPhone uses data)
as for making calls, we use skype
as for internet for computer & ipad, we use either the camp ground service OR we have a mifi (from bell) that has a north american plan
it works fine for us
good luck

RE: Rv Park Websites - Rates

Hi
find that the vast majority of camp grounds do post their rates (if they have a website)
also, find that use of third party websites (rvparkreviews or woodalls) posted rates are helpful in that at least you have a ball park figure

RE: Campground within 20 miles of Gig Harbor, Washington

hi John and Elaine:
Dash Point is not big rig friendly
VERY tight interior roadway
here's a link to the WA State Park website;
www.parks.wa.gov/parks/?selectedpark=Dash%20Point&subject=camping
if it were us, we'd stay in Gig Harbour
here the info from rvparkreviews:
www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/Washington/Gig_Harbor.html#CGID3133
have fun!

RE: Passport Question about entering Canada from the U.S.

What about getting Nexus cards instead of passports? Less expensive...
sounds good...BUT
you must have a valid passport to be able to apply for a nexus card

RE: Gas coast for 2011 in a 36 ft gas coach

thanks for posting Charles
i agree with 'knowing'
for each ill up, keep an excel spreadsheet for gas mileage that has;
- fill-up date; odometer reading; paid per gallon; # of gallons; miles drive; gas mileage; location of full up
we also have a daily travel excel spreadsheet that has;
- travel date; odometer reading at start of day; odometer reading at end of day; total miles; driven; location to location
(excel is a great tool)
having this info helps us to plan such things as; how many miles do we drive daily on average, or in setting up our annual budget, what is our file consumption)
