RE: Class A diesel pusher chassis....what's best

We have a 10 Airbag Roadmaster and love it. As others have said, it's tough to get a DP with a bad ride, so focus on a floorplan you like and test drive it........

RE: Dish Network ViP211k & KVH TracVision R4SL issue missing Sat

Not to complicate your situation any further, but if you do try to lock to the 61.5 sat, you may as well switch over to the eastern arc completely --- 61.5/72.7/77 sats.
If nothing else, that would make it a lot easier for you to gain line of sight while in the Eastern USA. Also, SOME local channels for the East are ONLY found on the 61.5 sat. Providence area, where I am, is an example.

RE: Carryout & Vuqube Security

X2, but my cable is 50' to match the VuCube cable length. I have never had anyone even touch my cube AFAIK and I leave it out at all times.
I have a dog tether about 15 feet long made of plastic coated styainless. Use long shank pad locks to secure to dish and some fixed item. Tree or MH.

RE: black water treatment tablets or liquid

Useless, even if you leave your tanks full for weeks at a time...... These are holding tanks, not septic systems.
I buy bottles of Enzyme Digester for drains from the plumbing department at WalMart. Inexpensive and effective.

RE: Looking for a Used DP, $100K range

35ft may be tough. Increasing your limit to 36ft would open up a much bigger selection. Looks at some older Foretravels or Country Coaches. You'll probably have to look at 2001 models or older to hit your price point.

RE: Black Water Tank Care

We are in our rig for 7 months straight. I use Campa-Chem and always have. We use lots of water and every couple of dumps, we hook up the hose to the tank sprayer and rinse out. We have never had a problem, ever. There's way too much concern and freakish behavior regarding what is just a simple holding tank.

RE: Rv Park Websites - Rates

Hmmmmmm...... If in my research, I find a CG with great reviews, but no rates on their WEB Site, I cannot imagine simply dismissing the place! I will actually pick up the telephone and TALK to them. I know talking is becoming almost taboo in this day and age, but I can't imagine passing up on a great spot because of such a small issue.
If our discussion reveals they are too expensive, so be it, but it also gives me the opportunity to negotiate both the site I want and a better rate. Anyone else remember how that works? ;-)))

RE: Verizon kills unlimited data plans for existing subscribers

If you take the time to read the terms & conditions of the service from ANY wireless carrier, it won't take you long to find the clause where they reserve the right to change those terms as they deem necessary.
For some reason, we users take offense when our cellular carrier tries to change the price or terms of our service. However, when any other utility changes pricing, like cable, electric, or landline phone service, it's nothing unexpected.
Unfortunately, the popularity of smartphones and tablets, which use lots of data, has exploded at a rate that has exceeded the ability of the carriers to provide adequate bandwidth. If they don't do something to throttle back the heaviest of users, the whole system will come to a grinding halt. They need to slow the use of data, while they upgrade their network bandwidth. Lack of available spectrum does not help the cause. Here in Boston, trying to use my iPhone while sitting in Fenway Park during a Red Sox game is just a waste of time. There are way more demands on the network than AT&T can service and nobody gets anything......

RE: Experience with protective shields for towing behinf RV

My personal opinion...... It's just one more thing that I don't want to have to deal with! Been towing for years and have seen no damage caused by it, that's any worse than driving the car down the highway.

RE: Buying a new diesel pusher for first time (pointers?)

1. Get the FULL PDI and make sure EVERYTHING is 100% to your satisfaction, before taking delivery. Some dealers tend to have memory failure once you drive the rig off the lot.
2. If anything is not fixed when you leave the lot, get it in writing from the dealer that it will be addressed and fixed at your convenience.
3. If it's not too late, negotiate and schedule a 30 day or 500mi service appointment at no charge, to deal with any issues that will likely crop up during your first times out with it.
Odds are there will be at least some small issues to be addressed after a few weeks with a new rig. Just be sure you are on top of the dealer and he is there to service you, when it is convenient to you! After all, you just spend a boat-load of cash with them.
