RE: Portable electric heater that doesn't burn out?

I have had the same problem before, I found out that when the parks power went off, I would burn out the digital heater control. I also used to keep the inverter on, which went to the receptacles, and so it would burn it out. Now, I keep the inverter off when plugged into park power, so far, so good.

RE: Just received my Norcold Newest Recall

So glad we replaced the 1200 with a RR, almost twice the interior space in the same outer size space, and everything stays cold or frozen, especially the ice cream...Only 1 draw back, wife has to keep it full.

RE: "Summerizing" a park model in Florida

Our neighbor uses the bubble wrap on the windows, the kind that has the silver foil on both sides. They unplug the ref and prop open the door, turn the water off, and set the air cond to as high as it will go. They told me it uses elect, but they have no mold.

RE: Toilet Backs Up?

Add a 1/2 gal of simple green to the tank, then fill tank with water. Let sit a couple of days, drain. May have to do it a second time, but will clean out the tank.

RE: Dyson Hot Fan Heater

Say what you want, but if you have never used a dyson, you really can not say.
38 deg is the lowest we stayed at, it is in the living area of the mh, and it is keeping the temp at 74 deg. Our mh has 4 slides, so 2 of them are in the living area. I have it set on counter at dinette, facing towards windshield, and the whole room is 74. It has a 10 speed fan, and it osscilates ?? keeping the whole room warm...and no the fan is not that noisy. The small cubes gets very hot and mostly only directs heat in 1 direction, used to use 3, the oil filled are large and bulky to store, a friend of mine leaked the oil. In the bed room area we have a vernado... And that is my 2 cents worth. And it cost me $333.00.

RE: Dyson Hot Fan Heater

Well I have 1 and it is great, seems much better than the run of the mill heaters, which I am going to sell off.

RE: "on the road" internet equipment

We have the Verizon air card hooked into a Cradlepoint MBR 1000, have been using it for years. We have been living on the road since 2004, no house, just the motorhome. While we do have service most of the time, just not everywhere. We had the satellite internet, and with that, you would have service everywhere. I didn't like setting it up, room to store it, $5,000.00 for the 1 on the roof. While not perfect, works most everywhere, when it doesn't you could use the campgrounds, but theirs are usually very slow, and most time you have to go into the office area to get decent reception, and sometimes they charge. You can see from my map where we have been, and I believe it was only a couple of times where we did not have any reception, but you know we didn't stay there more than a week anyways. In the San Diego area, we did drive closer to town using the ipad and had service.

RE: 2005 Tiffin 40QDH Rear Breaker panel location

There are some fuses located under the drawers in the front, you have to remove the drawers to get access to them..Also did you check the fuses in the front, outside drivers side bay?

RE: Generator will not shut down

There is a button on the generator as well. If the button on the dash stops working, check the wiring from the button, mine has a connector and it became disconnected.

RE: Is this entry assist handle supposed to be able to be lit?

Jim,
My handle does light and looks like yours, it also has a switch at the door, not tied to the porch light.
If it doesn't light, could be the bulb inside burned out, no power, switch not turned on, or not wired up.

RE: Florida's Attitude Towards Snowbirds

I started full timing Jan 2004, since then we have stayed in CA, TX, AL and FL for the winters. TX folks seem to be more friendly of them. BUT I have also found that ALL people have something to say, you just have to listen. I do not dump my garbage on you, nor will I let you dump yours on me. You can not make me feel down, I just won't listen, as to the middle finger, I look at that as a form of hello. I do not get treated that way in Orlando, and if I did, I guess I never noticed. FL temp is rated to be in the 80's all the rest of this week, that's why I am here. Prices are a little higher than PA, where I am from, but that is ok, as I don't have any high heating bills.
In this park there are some from Quebec, and I am wearing them down, they do say hello now and I try and answer them in their laungage, so far, so good.
MERRY CHRISTMAS, AND A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE.

RE: buying new gps

I also had the same problem with the 465T, I did get the RM 7710. What a difference. Larger screen, and it doesn't keep saying recalculating. It took me down the road where the 465T in truckers mode would not. Lets me store by addresses, and or GPS coordinates. Has loads of campgrounds stored as well. My being is it is a great unit, we used it from PA down to FL, sorry we did not get to test it on low bridges or the weight, but it will do that.

RE: November 22, 1963 - Do you remember it?

Yep, aboard ship in Norfolk, VA, all leaves were cancelled, and all ships were to get under way. We sailed up and down the east coast waters for 4 days, as did all the Naval fleet did for protection. The US was being protected N, S, E and W, for what may follow.

RE: Motorhomes Plugged In

My guess would be that they want to keep the batteries fully charged. I have 6 batteries and would not like to pull them out.
But then, what do I know, I am in Orlando, FL for the winter.

RE: Toilets - Aria Deluxe II vs; Aqua Magic Style Plus?

Just installed the "Aqua Magic Style Plus", in our mh, fit the same foot print as the old, and it has a strong flush. Foot pedal pushed part way down fill the bowl, fully pushed it flushes. It only keeps a small amount of water in bowl, till you put more in.
