RE: 2011 - 12 Cameo Prices

05 definately the last year Alpenlite made a great product. If they were in business I wouldn't be looking at other brands. I have owned this since new and was looking to update and if that doesn't work out I will not have a problem keeping this unit for another 5 years. I not going to pay 45 to 50k just to gain a couple of years. This aplenlite has been flawless and believe me I have worried about buying something and having a problem child. The last Cameo I got a price on was a 2011 and they would not give a 25% discount off of MSRP. You would think they would be tired of seeing that think on their lot. Its going to be 2 years old and a orphan. I was a buyer and they scared me off.

RE: 2011 - 12 Cameo Prices

I don't mind orphans at all I have a 05 Aplenlite, I am looking at upgrading into a 2010 or up model year. Carriage was on my short list before they went under. I thought any dealer with any Carriage products would want to get rid of them but I was wrong.

RE: 2011 - 12 Cameo Prices

There is not much quality left in the RV world unless you want to spend up to 100k. My Alpenlite has been flawless and I may keep it if I can't negotiate a deal. I am not afraid of buying a orphan at all if the price is right. I lost my structure warranty when Alpenlite went down but they would't have had a 5 year structure warranty if they did't know how to build a good product. I believe Carriage is that quality. I'll just keep shopping, someone will want to get the last one off of their lot.

2011 - 12 Cameo Prices

I have been trying to buy a new Carriage and the prices I have been getting are anything but friendly. It seem as if the dealers don't know they have orphans and don't won't to deal. Of course I have a trade so that muddies up the waters quite a bit. I have been trying to get 30 to 35% off of MSRP and a decent trade but this has been inpossible. What would it take for you to buy a new Carriage? How much off of MSRP?

RE: Alpenlite Information Needed

I live in the town that alpenlite had its factory & HQ in. I remember being at the repair center and they were putting in a generator in a new unit that had been bought used and then decided he had to have a generator. I also remember that I was told it was about twice the cost to retro fit. The gen would sit inside the front storage door and the door had a louvered panel that was about 1/3 of the top of the storage door. You would loose a tremendous amount of basement storage in the Augusta model.

RE: Will it pull it?

Yes you can pull it. Is it safe should be the question. I would not pull it.
