RE: Total Rebuild of a 1979 Dodge Class C

They are a little wider than the bed area itself but they still work great, And it's so good to sleep on, And I have slept in the bunk bed too.:Z We'll need the full size for the corner bed. Do you think the topper would be OK without a mattress under it? Also, in one of the reviews someone wrote that you have to keep the green side up, if it has one, otherwise the foam will get too warm.We are using this one without anything under it, Just Plywood and it sleeps great, Yes the memory foam go's up.

RE: Total Rebuild of a 1979 Dodge Class C

OT, it's great that your maiden voyage was a success. We finished rebuilding the entire brake system except for the power booster which is OK and eliminated the RABS but when we bled the rear brakes we found everything full of hypoid oil so now we have to pull the axles, etc to replace the seals. Did you buy the Spa Sensations 4" Memory Foam Mattress-Topper from WalMart and use it as a mattress or was it something else? We don't have a mattress in the bedroom, it was the first thing we threw out.It was the Canopy 4 inch mattress topper, (Memory Foam) They come in a green & white box Queen size fit our overhead bunk great we used the Twin size 2 1/2 inch on the bunk beds and it also sleeps great, They come with a zip up cover for the memory foam.....Here is some photos........ http://i868.photobucket.com/albums/ab246/oldtrucker63/Picture131161.jpg width=600 http://i868.photobucket.com/albums/ab246/oldtrucker63/Picture131162.jpg width=600 http://i868.photobucket.com/albums/ab246/oldtrucker63/Picture131163.jpg width=600

RE: Water Heater & Furnace

My Suburban popped the pressure relief valve this past weekend, Gas/Electric It will shut off on electric but will not shut off on Gas If the pressure relief valve drips this is normal.

RE: Water leak underneath rv

First check the water lines, Fresh water fill line and lines going to the pump, They might be the source of the water leak, If the tank is cracked you will have to remove the tank and get yourself a tank weld repair kit, If you have a piece just like the tank it can be welded with that piece and a soldering gun.

RE: 1975 Dodge Open Road Camper

Thanks Pap. Question #1: i have a 3 pole rocker switch labled on the switch "batt on top and trans on the bottom but neither work. black (top goes to a taped off wire at the genset. Blue (middle goes to the 12v fuse block). Red (bottom spliced to a white wire going through the camper and seems to trace to under the hood). I have hooked the fuse block direct to my truck batt and everything works. Does the taped off wire go to my genset battery or inside the Kohler genset contol panel? There is no 110v to 12v inverter anywhere. None of the 12v stuff works when genset is running or when hooked to the house elctricity. ( I figure this is where the inverter should come into play.)I would guess that your Inverter is not working, It takes 120 volts and turns it into 12 volts, Could be a bad ground, In these RV's the white wire is ground unless it was installed by someone else other than factory.

RE: What did you do to your Class C MH today???

Wish I could do something about the old square tv and the wood box that holds it. A cheap tv would be nice up there, newer kind. It's like above near the exit door. Any ideas welcome. There is Videos on You-Tube about this change.

RE: Total Rebuild of a 1979 Dodge Class C

All was good on our first trip, Everything worked great, It was cold the first two nights and the furnace work great we also used a small heater and both was set at 70 deg's and did not turn on much at all through the night, The new memory foam mattresses was sweet, For anyone wondering about the wall-mart bed in a box 4 inch memory foam there great, Maybe more good photos the next trip out, For now we just bought another house and it need some TLC so we will be staying in the RV in the driveway of this new house so we can re-finish the house so maybe we will hit the lake on the weekends or take the four-wheeler and the RV to the mountains for a weekend away from all of the work we have to do to this new house,..And also we still have a bunch to do to the RV so check back soon for more cool photos and great story's.:@

RE: Generator Removal

I wasn't actually offended. It is actually a little funny.I have been rebuilding a four wheeler for my brother-N-law and the plug in the rear end is stuck, This plug is made from some kind of tough plastic but looks kinda like a steel plug, I have not got it out yet, Tried everything I know and still no luck,.....:h

RE: E SuperDuty vibration

Well, I finally got my Bilstein shocks and Hellwig sways on and what a HUGE difference! The ride is soooo much better I cant beleive it. And, with that being done I was riding the turnpike at 65 mph with ease, comfort and confidence. Only thing it at 65 it had a strange vibration. Almost like you are riding the rumble strip, but not near that bad. It feels more like it coming through the steering wheel, but at the same time my wife feels it a little in the passenger seat. Now 64 and under it is super smooth. Tires are couple years new, wheel bearings have just been taken care of and front end is solid. It is a 1999 Ford E SuperDuty with the V10. Thanks for any ideas. My old dodge had the same kind of vibration and it was a brake caliper that was froze up, It finally started pulling to the left and then started getting hot, After I replaced the drivers side brake caliper it's back driving like new again.

RE: Total Rebuild of a 1979 Dodge Class C

And if I ever do anymore Total rebuilds it will be inside of a garage with all parts on hand, This is really a tough job if your doing it outside through winter months and ordering parts as you need them.

RE: How do I check house batteries?

Yes a good Digital volt meter you can pick one up off E-bay and they also have them with AMPs reading too, I done mine like this, And it can be hooked anywhere to any 12 volt hot/ground as long as the wires that it is hooked to are powered by the house battery's. http://i868.photobucket.com/albums/ab246/oldtrucker63/Picture131117.jpg width=600
