RE: Inflatable Boat
Had a 12 ft Achilles with 15 HP Yamaha outboard back in the late 80's. We used it mainly for reef SCUBA diving, but also used it for salt and fresh water fishing. We also used it for our annual wilderness camping trip to Cape Sable (Flordia Everglades). We loaded it up with all the necessary food, gear and water for our three day trip.
With the 15 HP motor we could even water ski behind it.
My boat had a wooden partitioned floor and an inflatable keel (so it did not have a flat bottom). It was a great boat - very portable. It folded up pretty compactly and fit nicely in the cargo area of a Corolla hatchback. This was back in my tent camping days and we had to squeeze quite a bit of gear back there.
I eventually became tired if setting it up, breaking it down and storing it. I bought a small aluminum trailer trailer and for the last few years it was kept outside inflated on the trailer exposed to the Florida sun. I kept it for about ten years then sold it to a friend who used it for another 10 years. He then sold it when he purchased a
fiberglass boat.
Overall I would say it was a great quality product.
