RE: Kon Tiki trailer

In that vintage, they're all the same. Simple charging system/converter, 2 way dometic, gas range, and a hot water heater you have to go outside and light with a match. I have rebuilt about 20 70's vintage TT's, most in the 16-18' size. You'll want look for rot around the windows, especially the front end, the rear corners, and the top. Look for water damage inside the upper cabinets along the side seams. The plumbing will likely be shot - replacing with pex is simple. Yank the propane heater, they're dangerous and not worth the trouble - use a space heater with hookups or generator, or a little buddy with a CO2 shut off. I love old trailers - they're simple and easy to work on, like old cars.

RE: Looking for TINY Camper - under 1000 pounds

We take the seats out of the minivan, pop in a futon, and get 24 mpg. Why yank a trailer along?

RE: Cinder Blocks..

Cinder blocks aren't that heavy. They come in different densities.

RE: downsized with overkill

I have several trailers, but admittedly, it looks like overkill when I pull the 17' lite with the duramax dually dual cab long bed. Sometimes we forget the trailer's back there. We have a big trailer too, but it seems like MORE overkill to have two trucks.

RE: New Camping tent

A few years ago, my teens quit wanting to sleep in the trailer with me at livestock shows. I bought a cheap ($100) 3 room tent (12X16, with a screened in area and separated bedrooms) from walmart. That thing got used over and over and over for 7 years - until last year when the thing just fell apart. It saw plenty of downpours and kept everyone dry. I certainly got my $100 out of it. Husband and I use a newer coleman 6 man dome. It's very waterproof, we have done a lot of camping in Oregon with it. It cost closer to $200 and really wasn't any better in quality to the walmart tent.

RE: RV parks near Florence, Oregon

Honeyman state park is one of my favorite parks - it's OLD, one of the first state parks, so the sites are big and well separated.
