RE: Have you buffed or polished your headlight lenses?

I use a damp cloth and toothpaste. It works well and it's a lot cheaper than those "kits" that cost $10.00 to $20.00 or more. I use Colgate, but I dont think the brand really matters. It took about 10 minutes to buff out both headlights.

RE: Need photo editing program???

If you're looking for something similar to Adobe Photo Shop give GIMP a try. It's powerful and it's free. You can get it for Windows or Linux here: http://www.gimp.org/ I've used it several times and it has done a better job than Photo Shop on some of my projects.

RE: Vista problems again

Go to this web site, http://www.technibble.com/rkill-repair-tool-of-the-week/ , download RKill and run it twice. Then, on a clean machine, go to http://superantispyware.com/, download the "Protable Version", copy it to a thumb drive and run it on the infected computer. After Superantispyware has finished scanning and removing malware from your PC try running Malwarebytes again. Using these three programs should remove 100% of the malware on your computer.

RE: Motorcycle and class C

I paid about $800.00 to have a really nice deck welded to the rear of our 21' class C so I could carry our Harley Sportster. The deck weighed about 200 pounds and the Harley weighs 510 pounds. I thought it was working pretty well until one day when I was going down a steep mountain road at 45 mph and discovered (on a sharp curve) that the motor home front wheels were off the ground. I nearly went off a cliff. I had to keep my speed between 20 and 25 until I got down off the mountain (about 50 miles). Another problem you can run into if you exceed the recommended hitch weight is the motor home frame. There are extensions welded to the vehicle frame just behind the rear axle, and those extensions are a lighter material than the main frame. If you break or bend those extensions the rear of your motor home will sag.

RE: Headlight cleaner

Toothpaste and a damp cloth works great!!! I used Colgate but I'm sure others will work just as well. It took less than 10 minutes to do the job and the headlights look almost like new. It's been several months since I tried the toothpaste trick and the headlights still look good. Don't waste your money on those expensive cleaning kits.

RE: V10, 6.8 L Fuel Consumption

I've played around with a couple of hydrogen generators. One of the "by-products" from the generator is water. Water can rust your pistons, cylinders, and exhaust system. To protect your engine's internal parts from rust you would probably have to put some kind of ceramic coating on everything.

RE: N California Lakes - Shasta or Eagle

We stayed at the Merrill campground at Eagle Lake last October. Merrill looked like a brand new campground. The camp sites are huge and most of them can handle any size motor home. Our neighbors had a 40' class A and three automobiles on their site. The terrain was mostly flat and it was an easy walk to the beach and lake. However, the wind blows a lot and you need a good sized boat if you plan to be on the lake during the day. We have also stayed at the Antlers RV park on the north end of Shasta Lake many times. Nearly all of the sites have full hookups. The upper loop (sites 73 through 115) has a lot of shade and the sites are big. The lower loop (near the pool and store) are very small and close together with limited shade. Shade can be important at Shasta because we've seen temps of 102 in early May there. It's about a 50 yard walk down a steep boat ramp to get to the boat docks and the GIANT house boats. Going down is easy, but coming back up can wear you out. We've had deer come into our camp site during the day time and eat slices of bread out of our hand. At night there was a small bear that would come through camp and dig through the garbage cans, but never bothered people. The big disadvantage for most of the camp grounds and RV parks at the north end of the lake are the trains. The main tracks going from California to Oregon and Washington go right past most of the camp grounds. It's not just Antlers RV park, it's ALL or MOST of the RV parks in that area. If you are taking your own boat you'll have two options for launching it at Atlers. There is a public boat ramp just off of I-5 on the road to Antlers RV park. The price to launch was $5.00 the last time we were there. Or you can have the guys at Antlers launch the boat for you. The last time we were there they were charging $25.00 and you DO NOT have the option of launching it yourself on their ramp. You can also rent a berth at the Antlers dock for your boat if you plan to stay a few days. By the way, the campgrounds have restrooms with flushing toilets and hot showers. You can see a map of the Antlers campground here: http://www.antlersrvpark.com/887181.html If you are looking to rent a houseboat I don't think you will find any on Eagle Lake. There are several places to rent them on Shasta Lake. Antlers has small ones that are nothing but a big piece of plywood (8' x 16') on pontoons with a BBQ and a toilet for day use up to their big one, the Orion. The Orion is 56 feet long, sleeps 19 and had two full bathrooms. It was awesome, but I don't think we'll be renting it since we have our motor home and 15' fishing boat.
