RE: Boondocking pet peeves, I really hate it when...

You live east of the Mississippi and the only places around for boondocking are WalMart parking lots.

RE: Removing decals

I stripped almost an entire Montana fifth wheel. Used a heat gun which was a little more intense than a hair dryer. The pieces pulled off easily once started. The key was to apply the correct amount of heat and tension. Too much heat melted the pieces as they were being pulled, causing them to tear and too little wouldn't make it release.

RE: two generators or one?

You might consider one EU3000is and one EU2000i. They can each be run alone or paralleled. Another option is three of the 2000's. There is an after market unit that will allow you to parallel three units or you can build your own with a 50 amp receptacle. Honda doesn't advertise that you can mix different power inverters units, but you can. I have two 2000's and a 3000 and I regularly parallel a 2000 and 3000 to run my 15k and 13.5k air conditioner units for September tailgates when the 15k just won't do it. Last year, after all the tornadoes came through central Alabama I paralleled a 2000 and a 3000 to run my whole house, including an 8000 btu window unit for days. I have no experience with Yamaha, but I doubt there would be much difference.
Just another option.
Edit: If you want to run an EU3000is with an EU2000i it can be done just like the EU2000i and an EU2000i Companion. Just plug in the same parallel cables and the 30 amp receptacle on the 3000 will handle the surge that a second ac unit will throw at it. I do this, knowing that the combined running load of the two air conditioners is below 30 amps. The 30 amp receptacle is momentarily overloaded when the second ac starts but it is only momentary.

RE: Anyone know if Costco is still selling Golf Cart Batteries?

I just happened to look at the COSTCO golf cart batteries a few hours ago but didn't take a picture. They were priced at $79.99 here. Seems that some items you see at COSTCO and SAMS are priced, based on how close the nearest competitor is located. I have seen people taking notes walking through COSTCO and I asked if they work for SAMS. The answers are always yes. They're easy to pick out. I'm sure the opposite is true also.

RE: DirecTV HD and Kingdome

I was told by the installer at my home that if I took the newest receiver on the road and wanted to use a legacy LNB that it would be very difficult to change. I haven't tried it because I also have a SWM in the RV. I know that back before I went to SWM in the RV it wasn't that difficult to swap back and forth from SWM to legacy but that was with an older receiver.

RE: need help connecting satellite to system

You can also connect your "Air Antenna" too Off Air connection on the back of your Direct TV receiver.. It will then pick up your air antenna channels at the same time (channel 3 or 4 on you receiver)
That will depend on how old your receiver is. My oldest DVR has this feature but the newer receivers and DVR's do not.

RE: Window 7. Can't run back up

Just in case anyone has been following, my backup (using Windows Backup) finally completed. It took 3 days and 13 hours to complete. A little longer than I would have thought.
If I ever need to recover I'll probably set it up and take a long vacation.

RE: Wilson RV Cell Phone Booster

The Wilson 4G-V, Sleek is now available. The previous Sleek would only work with 3G. This one covers 2G, 3G and 4G. Ordered one today. Hope to report file a report here soon.
As many of you already know, the 4G V is still not out. The person I talked to, when ordering did not know the difference. They sent me another 3G. Sales manager appologized and put me first on the list for when they arrive.

RE: Window 7. Can't run back up

I am using Windows Backup at the present time. This morning it looks like I am 75 to 80% complete. That's compared to about 65% yesterday morning. I was glad to see it was still progressing. Thought it had stalled out. I'm just going to let it run and keep using my laptop.
Windows 8 is not too far in the future. I'm thinking I'll replace both computers then.
By the way: Am I the only one having trouble getting posts to work on this forum. I tried this in Chrome, Foxfire and finally IE befor it worked. I have also gone through Woodall's link and had no trouble.

RE: Window 7. Can't run back up

I tried ToDo Backup and it kept telling me I didn't have enough room. I am running Windows backup now. It ran all night and appeared to be about 65%. It's been running all day and still looks like about 65%.

RE: Window 7. Can't run back up

You don't need to buy a backup application in order to make reliable system image backups. I use the freeware EaseUS Todo Backup Free 4.5, and have used it to restore hard drives on more than one occasions including to dissimilar hardware. Very easy to use and restored my HD with no issues.
I must not be using it correctly. Keeps telling me that I have run out of disk space when I know this shouldn't be true.

RE: Window 7. Can't run back up

How many gigs are you trying to backup? How many restore points are saved. What type external drive and connection ( USB or Sata)? And not to insult but System Mechanic can really screwup really quick if you are not well versed in the use. CCleaner and Malwarebyte are a lot easier to use & both have free programs.
Art.
My "C" drive contains 228 gigs. I have 8 restore points.
My external drive has 371 gigs available. It is connected by USB 2.0.
I guess I'm not well versed. I just followed the instructions and scanned with System Mechanic Pro. Not sure what I'm suppose to know.
Did as you suggested. Downloaded CCleaner and Malwarebytes and ran each. They didn't find much, 8 tracking cookies and no registry problems. I have also run System File Checker which found no problems.

RE: Window 7. Can't run back up

Create System Image will not work in safe mode.
Downloaded trial version of Acronis True Image and started backup imaging. Estimated run time it gives me is 1 day and 18 minutes. Something is still wrong.
Second edit: Acronis True Image has been running now for about 2 hours. Now says it will take 1 day 10 hours and 18 minutes longer to complete back up image. Doesn't seem faster. I ran virus scan, spyware scan and registry repair before starting Acronis.

RE: accumulator

The instructions that came with mine said precharge to 20 psi. 23 to 25 would probably be OK. I use a bicycle pump to keep from inflating too quickly.

Window 7. Can't run back up

Trying to create back up to an external hard drive. Space is no issue. Back up begins but will not complete. Let it run all night and the green bar only shows about 20% complete.
Any ideas why?
