RE: Leaking Exhaust Manifolds

I replaced my cracked leaking manifolds on my 454 with ceramic coated Doug Thourley headers from Summit. It was a very easy job. Sprayed all the studs with PB Blaster like three times a day for a week while I was waiting for the headers. Every stud came right out. I used the metal gasket that came with the headers.

RE: 2000 American Dream. Considering purchase..Your Thoughts

Than you all (most of you) for all of the great info.
I respect the informative information. The pithy comments, I expect, but I have a limited time to make a decision as this rig is through an auction so I would like owners of this coach to come forward and let me know how you like it, good or bad so I can make an informative choice.
Let me know....
Bob....
Did not notice any pithy comments....seems to me you got a thumbs up from the responders.
The classic lines of these vintage Eagles/Dreams are admired by many.
Here are the other things you should consider:
-Large tankage (150 gallons fuel, 110 gallons fresh water,60 grey, 40 black, 40 gallons propane).
-Good thermal and acoustical insulation
-2000 Dream has a fiberglass roof I believe...check the specs
If you do not get this coach there is a screaming deal at PPL on a 99 Eagle.
I like that 2000 Magna at PPL for $63,500.00

RE: Campground Oops

I, too, have cleaned off yellow paint from gas station posts. Fortunately
there was no damage and it only took some rubbing compound and elbow grease,
Join the club!!
X2 I had about a fifteen foot yellow stripe on the side of my 5er. From the gas station. Took a few hours but it all came out and no damage.

RE: CoachNet

I"ve had GS for 20 years and have used them more time than I care to say; they always call within an hour and ask if the service has arrived; Once on the fourth of july they were there in less than 30 minutes, they always call back again and ask if the sevice was satisfactury.Yep, their sister company, CW's Roadcare, did that to me for a whole weekend. No one ever showed up. I fixed it myself once I hoofed it to a parts store for tools and parts.
I must be drunk :h

RE: CoachNet

Funny reading all this. You can tell who has CN by the way they stick up for them and try and turn it around and blame the OP. Go drink some more of that CN Koolaid.

RE: General tires

why did you go with hankook over generals
for your RV generals are cheeper
I never looked into the Generals for the rv. My neighbor has Hankooks and seems like a lot on the forum have them also. Kinda just went with the flow. Have Goodyears on now and not going to pay that much for them or Michelins

RE: General tires

Can't help you with the 22.5s but I'm running three sets of General Grabber AT/2. I have 35s on my truck and 265s on my wife's and kids car. I swear by them. That said I just ordered Hankooks for my Moho. I'm running a set of 22 inch Hankooks on my Suburban also.

RE: coilspring airbag pressure

I had trouble with my front airbags too and finally had the SuperSteer front springs installed by a well known and highly regarded shop. I was very pleased with results - but only two years later the Supersteer springs are sacked out almost as bad as the O.E. springs. Yes, the shop weighed the rig prior to insallation and no, I do not overload although I am at the max of my 18K load limit per certified axle scales. So back to square one again only $1500 poorer for it.
Chuck you should call Super Steer and talk to John. I will almost guarantee he will help you out. Was the $1500.00 for springs and install? I just put a pair in mine and it took about 4 hrs. If I didn't have to remove my steer safe to install the springs it would save a easy hour. Under $400.00 for the springs and 4 hrs labor at $100.00 a hour would only be $800.00. Just curious as to the 1500.00

RE: Tire man says!!!!!!!

I know your talking 22.5 but I just got 6 Hankook AH11 19.5s out the door balanced with equal for $1800.00 and I actually just got back from the tire shop with my wife's Suburban with 4 General Grabber A /T2s for 740.00 OTD. I hope I'm done with tires for awhile.

RE: Cool old Wanderlodge spotted

The biggest problem with the older Wanderlodges is you probably spend half of the day answearing questions and showing your rig. They are one heck of a coach.
