RE: Towing a car with a wheel lift on a Workhourse frame

I've seen them on some super Cs with tag axles, anything without a tag I would say no go.

RE: M & G Brake System Question

In '06 when I bought and installed mine they offered a dash mounted receiver and a under hood sending unit(pressure switch) that indicated when air pressure was present.

RE: swivel wheel trailers

I was looking into this last fall. Seems like a practical way to go. I was told they are not considered trailers, rather load extenders as they don't pivot on the hitch.I'll probably build dual wheel one for the summer

We currently have a 2008 Gulfstream Tourmaster. Upgrade coach or get a boat instead? What would you do, advice?
Azimut 40

Newmar King Aire
This is a trick question, right?

RE: Hospitalized

Glad to hear you're bouncing back so well. Did you ever think you'd hear yourself say "Yippee! I can eat soup all day!"
Nope, but you learn to appreciate small things when health is involved.

Hospitalized

I've been hospitalized since the 16th in Martin Memorial North
in Stuart Fl. I had 4 abdominal surgeries in '99 caused by a Colin perforation, Left me with lots of scarring , this trip it's a partial obstruction blockage. Had an NG tube in releasing pressure. Well it looks like it's opening up, they removed the tube and I'm on liquid today, soft tomorrow and solid Sunday then home.Yippee!!! I would recommend the hospital to any in need in the area, Doctors and Nurses great care.

RE: Air brakes for Toads

What happens with the systems which use the coach's air brakes when you're decelerating using the exhaust brake instead of the service brakes? The toad's brakes will never be applied until you apply the service brakes. Right? I think I want a system that senses my deceleration and applies the toad's brakes regardless of how I am braking.I think most of us want the brakes proportional to how we are applying the coach brakes, and do not want it operating with the exhaust brake. Toad brakes do not need to operated with the exhaust brake as the exhaust brake will hold it back just fine.
Pat is right on. I drive a 50,000 lb coach and the last thing I want a remoteis the toad brakes coming on to try to stop it every time the Jake comes on. I'd be wearing out the toad brakes in no time and for no reason.
I agree with the comments above. My Jake can keep my speed steady down a long steep grade. I don't want to be dragging my toad brakes on those grades.
I love the M&G, but I wish it had some real-time feedback to the cockpit that it is functioning. You can to some driveway tests to make sure the air is pressurizing the toad's hydraulic system, but there is no way to tell when rolling down the highway.
M&G has an alert system, there is a tapped hole with a plug in it on the top of the cylinder, they have a pressure switch which activates a remote which in turn sends a signal to a unit you mount up front. green light comes on when you brake.

RE: BANG

Today at 3:20 south of Rocky Mount NC on 95 S I had a fool with a brand new Audi try to merge into the right side of my rig, I saw him coming he was accelerating quickly enough to get ahead of me, suddenly he started coming over, I screamed at my wife to hold on looked to the left nothing was coming, hit the breaks, airhorn and swerved left all at the same time. Apparently that woke him up as he slammed on his brakes causing the van behind him had to swerve to avoid rear ending him. 5 minutes later when he passed me I could see his windows were tinted so dark that you couldn't tell if anyone was inside. Took a few minutes for my heart rate to go down.

RE: What did you do to your Class A MH today???

Went to Speedco in Kenly NC off 95. Had a total service done on Cat C7 chassis and Onan 7500. On spot oil analyze and cat filters. Total out the door $286, very professional RV savy nice folks. Seems like a good price compared to what I've paid at a Cat dealer.

We will be there the first 2 weeks of March, fourth time there, pretty laid back, nice folks seem to find the place. If you don't have reservations by now it might be tough unless someone cancels. Easy ride into town.
