RE: Updated trailer *with pics*

Looks very nice. A lot of members ask how to paint their unit. Can you give a description of how you handled this. Thanks, Marly

RE: Painting the Aluminum Siding

I painted the lower half of mine about 15 years ago. I washed it down with wax and grease remover first. Then I scuffed the factory painted aluminum with 3M maroon scuff pads. Around the moldings where the scuff pad didn't work well I used a stainless steel wire brush. Painted it with my old Binks no.7 paint gun outdoors On a calm day with DuPont acrylic automotive enamel with a catalyst. Paint is still on it and it has been outdoors since. If you can do a search there was a fellow several years past that painted his Corvair with a foam roller and Rustoleum. it came out very nice.

RE: Ramps for a pickup

If you have 4WD back the truck into a road ditch. Safer than ramps.

RE: Reflective Tape

Please put RED tape on the lower rear for safety's sake. White is okay on the upper rear.

RE: Inverter in TV, for 120v to TT?

We had a refrigerator that would blow out. I placed a loose woven fiberglas furnace filter inside the access panel and ended my problem.

RE: A couple questions, one that you've probably answered before

House movers run low pressure and low speed to protect tires.

RE: Fuel Pump problems ....help please!!!!

Have you changed or checked your fuel filter? A plugged filter can overload the pump. The filter can cause other problems.

RE: Plexi glass in bottom of screen door

The thickness will depend on the width of the channel in you door. Sounds like a good idea. We have used patterned aluminum mesh or screen to do a similar job but I had to pop rivet it on. It worked. You may want to explore making a piece for the upper half of you door. Lets light in but keeps breezes out.

RE: Friends of Bill W.

I'm not going to be much help but here in Nebraska we have a group that has a sign they put out with a triangle in a circle with a coffee pot over a fire. Instant recognition. I went to buy a tool today and the seller had a triangle/circle hanging on his wall. When I asked what it represented he simply said "AA".

RE: Deer Whistle

I have one deer whistle mounted on my 1940 John Deere. The live ones still come into my yard!

RE: Do you leave your space heater ON over night?

It should be safe. We have used small ceramic heaters many nights in our camper with no trouble. Just keep anything flamable away from it.

RE: RV repairman - Did I get taken for a ride or fair service?

You may have butane in your tanks instead of propane, common in warmer states. http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-the-difference-between-propane-and-butane.htm

RE: Off Road Diesel

I have been stopped and checked once, about 15 years back. In Nebraska they mostly check out of state trucks or those with distant license plates.

RE: Deer avoidance system ?

In doing body repair and painting for over 30 years many of the cars that hit deer had the whistles on them. I have one on my 1940 John Deere B and haven't had a deer near it since the tree farm surrounding my house put a deer fence around my place. Slow speed and fences work!

RE: Help with a repair of the trim?

It looks like a piece of vinyl screw cover strip. You can get it at a nearby camper dealer or merely fill it with white caulk material.

RE: 2004 Ford Sport trac

Bad fuel pump or plugged fuel filter. Filter is easier and cheaper to try first.
