RE: Tire replacement at 9 years?

Bear in mind that the maximum load rating of the tire depends on the air pressure.
If you are not running them at the required air pressure, they will not achieve the maximum load rating.
For example, I am running Cooper SRM II tires on my 1990 Winnebago Warrior. These are E rated tires. But in order to achieve this E rating, the tires must be inflated to 80 PSI or so!
http://www.worktruckonline.com/Article/Story/2007/07/How-to-Determine-Tire-Load-Ratings.aspx
The rims on my 1990 Winnebago Warrior are only rated to 65 PSI, and this is stamped on the rims as the maximum. My door tag indicates 65PSI for the rear tires, and 58PSI for the front tires.
With these pressures, my E-rated tires will not support the maximum rated load of the tire!
The moral of the story here is the load rating is affected by the inflation pressure. If you are not running at the required pressure, you must de-rate the tire.

RE: Tire replacement at 9 years?

I think when I bought new Cooper tires I remember them recommending 6 years or so as a working life.
Yes, you can have blowouts even with new tires. I worked with a guy that had it happen on his fifth-wheel. Took out his water heater and sewage system on a fairly new rig.
RV tires almost never wear out tread-wise. It is almost always age that gets them. Inspect them, and as you get close to 6 years, be very diligent.

How to replace roof / remove goop?

Hi!
We have a 1990 Winnebago Warrior Class C.
The roof at one time leaked, and the previous owner coated the entire roof with a rubber cement type of material. Pictures here:

The material is still soft and pliant.
Unfortunately, the roof still leaks. I suspect the skylight in the shower, but I do not know the extent of the problem. I believe the best choice is to replace the roof and then when I have the old rubber roof off I can identify and fix any rot problems.
The question is, how do I remove this goopy roof sealant? Removing it by hand with a plastic putty knife is going to take forever. I believe I only need to remove it around the perimeter of the roof and then it will come off with the rubber roof. Of course getting at the fastening hardware for all of the roof accessories is going to be a challenge.
Any ideas?

Where to find hardware for blinds?

Hi!
We have a 1990 Winnebago Warrior Class C.
The blinds are nice metal blinds. On the bottom of each blind, on either end, there is a plastic piece with a little nipple that fits into a bracket with a pin that is screwed to the wall at the bottom of the window, on either side.
This keeps the blinds from flopping around.
Some of our blinds are missing this little plastic piece.
Also, one of the blinds is missing its little metal clip and plastic rod for rotating the angle of the blinds.
Does anyone know where to buy replacements?
