RE: Bike Rack

Roof Top Bike Rack
This $50 bike rack for the roof is my favorite. I wanted a bike rack that did not add to tongue weight, was not attached to my PUP and I did not want a front mount receiver which is the second best option.
I have put two bikes plus my roof box on my Suburban, so I don't know if you can get all four bikes on your roof, but I really like this option.
I recommend ordering with the keys being the same. Etrailer was helpful in this, or Swagman would do the same.
Hope this helps.

RE: 'Awesome' made my paint worse.

I wonder if it could be the floor wax some use on their mobile home campers.
To clean my PUP which has aluminum panels painted white, I wet it down, spray Simple Green, Scrub with long pole soft brush and rinse. I just used Protect All Oxidation remover and Sealant and it was wonderful. I thougt my camper was beyond looking good, but it looks great now. I hope you can find the solution.

RE: Installing New Water Heater

Aftermath,
Thanks for the reply. I am going to have it checked next season but my biggest problem was seeing when the pilot was lit in the bright summer day. I had that problem twice. This is why the auto light would be a desirable option IMO. Thanks again for your informative response.

Surge Protector worth the investment

Anyone find it worth investing in a portable surge protector? This season we had one trip where our A/C was having problems and eventually triped I believe to uneven electrical power. I was concerned that if it happened too often, it would ruin the compressor or possible other equipment. I am interseted if others have found it necessary.
Thank you.

Installing New Water Heater

I am wondering if anyone has replaced thier Suburban 6gallon water heater on thier own. I see they are $350 or close for the gas and electric option. My current unit is hard to light and I would love something like the click "pizo" type like a gas grill.
QUESTIONS:
1. How hard is it to install?
2. What options are worth considering?
3. What is the gas & electric option and is it worth it?
4. I hate the way my current unit lights, is there a pizo lighter?
5. Should I replace with exactly same unit?
6. What is the advantage of the ATwood versus Suburban brand?\
Thanks

LP Quick Connector on side of camper

I have a 2004 Fleetwood Hemlock and I have an LP Quick connect on the side of my camper. This quick connect seems to get stuck and is hard to get my camp stove connected. Is there any way to lube the connection or replace the connector all together?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Replacement Sink Faucet

We have been considering replacing our sink faucet which has two handles with the single handle version. I see there is one in Camping World's catalog. Anyone done this and have suggested models?

RE: System for rolling down plastic "windows?"

We do the same opening only 1/2 way and let hang down. Another trick that worked for us shorter people was to add zip ties to the zippers (small hole in the end) to extend the reach when opening and closing the windows.

Slide Out Dinette Hard to Close

I have a 2004 Fleetwood Hemlock which is a highwall with a slide out dinette. Lately the slide out dinette has been hard to close as if something is blocking it or stuck in the slide rail. I have been able to get it closed after a few attempts and slightly lifting the slide out as I push it in.
Any ideas? I have no idea how to get to the rails, but I know the water pump is in this same area somewhere. Appreciate any suggestions before I have to take it in for service.
Thanks.

Polish and/or Wax PUP or not

I am trying to find out if I should wax my PUP or not. I have a 2004 Fleetwood Hemlock with the textured side panels and roof. The roof still has some shine to it, but the side panels seem "chalky' or oxidiaed.
I have hear not to wax or you will remove too much paint, but would like to do something because it does not look good.
Thanks for anyone who knows what is best.

RE: Battery is dead?

I hooked it up to the camper which was plugged in and then went camping over the weekend. Last read showed 13.1 on the DCV 200 setting. I wonder, does this mean it is overcharged? I took it off the camper which went back in storage for a few weeks until next trip and want to know if I should hook it up to the battery minder now?
Thanks.

RE: Battery is dead?

Thanks for the help.
I changed the multimeter to DCV 200 and it showed 11.5 which according to another post indicates the battery is only 20% charged. I can't understand this because I had it on the battery minder all winter so looks like I need to get it charged. Any ideas besides taking to my mechanic's garage?
Thanks again for all the help.
Oh, the small box seems to be a auto reset breaker of some sort.

Battery is dead?

2004 Fleetwood Hemlock, highwall pop up.
I am setting up the pop up for the season and after hooking up my battery, I think I forgot a few things and hopefully can be reminded by some of you more knowledgable than me.
First, I had my one year old battery on a battery minder all winter long in my garage and checked the water level twice and seemed to be fine with the level just above the metal fins.
1. The three wires from camputer to the battery - black to +, white to the - and I have another striped wire with a very small box and I hooked it to the +. Am I right so far?
2. I have no power to the camper with battery only power.
3. I used a digital multimeter and set to 750 ACV and had a reading of 28. I have no clue how to use this, but read the instructions so go easy on me if I am doing this wrong also.
Thank you for any direction given!
