RE: 2010 Tahoe + Passport 2650BH = good match?
Just for grins & giggles have you even concidered going to a dealer and see what your trade is worth/ out the door cost? After dealing with the same sleepless nights having ordered a 31' TT owning a '08 Tahoe, I found a rather hungry Chev. dlr that gave me $36k trade on a new Silverado 2500HD for $34k....no brainer there. Couldn't be happier (other than gas mpg). Dealers are hurt'n out there (I work for one) and it may take a few trips around to find the right one...but it could solve your problem.

I turn my tow/haul off when approching a stop....about 50% of the time it downshifts way too soon and revs so high it sounds like it's going to kick a rod out. Truck & trailer brakes work very well.

look at my sig. at my length (55') I had never towed anything that long before.....nervous? oh yeah! But after the first couple times out I got quite comfortable with it. 90% of it is in anticipation especially on turns....gotta make 'em wide. It's going to take lots of practice & seat time.

as an owner of a 2010 2500HD gasser 4.10 diff I am currently getting 10.5 mpg around town no better than 14 mpg highway average 65 mph (non towing). Towing my 7400 lb loaded tt does a great job no complaints except needing a fuel tanker in my back yard!!!!!
I average around 8.5-9.5 mpg towing @ 60-65 mph.
Oh yeah, I put the rig on a Cat scale and got a total of 14,300 lbs.
Wow that is a long tag trailer. Do cross winds push you around a lot?
not really...my long wheelbase keeps it in check I think.Bumper to bumper I'm around 55' long

2010 2500HD 4.10 Z71 extended cab long bed here...makes for w i d e turns but towing is awesome...no sway, plenty o power, deadly on gas. traded my '08 Tahoe that I was a little afraid of towing a 31' 7k+ lb TT with...glad I did it! Got $36k on the trade, paid $34k for the new truck= no brainer!
