RE: Picture this one in your head

Toyota and Honda, as TV's, may just need thier own forum page. Curious why you would say Toyota, my Tundra does just fine? Sure a 4 Runner or Rav 4 maybe a little light but you can still find trailers in their range as well. We need our own Forum Page?? My Tundra tows just fine.

RE: Jack Knife Couch

I want to take out ours too. Sooo uncomfortable to sit on and use as a couch or folded out flat like a bed. Ours is mounted to a wood platform with bolts, not the floor. I am getting prices on a 32" x 64" custom cut mattress with coils to fit on the wood platform and making mine into a "Day Bed" with big pillows. What size is the space you have to work with if you take it out? You may be able to fit a Twin Size bed in there and put storage underneath.

RE: Need advice please

Diva...WOW what a story, so sorry you had to go through all this with your new TT. Glad CW made it right for you and now you can put this all behind you. We have a TUNDRA and we love it, it tows our TT just fine. Just got back from the Smoky Mountains, first mountain towing and the Tundra had no problem. Don't listen to the Toyota bashers. Like any 1/2 Ton or 3/4 Ton or 1 Ton...stay within your weight limits and have proper set-up. There are good people on this forum to help you...ignore the bully's! Happy Camping:)

RE: Class C RV Newbie

You may want to look into working at xanterra.com at State and National Parks jobs in the hospitality industry if you want to be mobile. Do you have restaurant or hotel experience and a clean background check? A lot of seasonal jobs and working from park to park. Some places provide RV spaces for housing benefits.

RE: Class C RV Newbie

A lot of towns and cities have ordinances and will not let you "boondock" on the side of the road, or at the ocean, or on a residential street. You mentioned getting a job at a hotel or restaurant...I doubt they will let you boondock in their parking lot for a year. Take your time and think hard on all the advice being shared on this forum. Good luck.

RE: Remove scratches

I've been using TR3 Resin Glaze, Automobile Cleaner & Polish for over 30 years. Comes in a metal tin can with blue lettering. Wal-Mart or auto parts store has it. Gets light scratches and road tar off, etc.

RE: Dealing with WDH

The bin I bought is one of those plastic "under the bed" storage bins so the side is only about 12" high and you are not trying to lift that Blue Ox into a deep bin. Yeah that's the problem I'm having with the new box I bought. The sides are really high so it's going to be a problem getting it back out. That, and I'm worried about the bottom ripping out and mangling a foot. The hitch itself is pretty big. Not sure I'd want to drive around with it hanging out of the back of my TV for very long. Thanks for the suggestions! I went out and measured our bin. It's 6" High, 16" Wide, 34" Long. The whole Blue Ox fits in it and the bars. You can get one at Wal-Mart, "under the bed" storage container, it's clear plastic. It works for us, don't want to leave the hitch attached to the truck would rather stow it. With the bin only 6" high, easier to lift it into the bin with the bin sitting on the tail gate of the truck. We put an old rug down on the tail gate so we don't scratch it, toss the Blue Ox in the bin then slide it into the truck.

RE: Dealing with WDH

We have Blue Ox too. It is very heavy but it works great and does a good job while towing. We have a bin for it. At home we back the truck up to the garage as close as we can where we store it to put it on or take it off so we don't have to carry it too far. At the CG we put it in the bin and lock it up in the back of the truck, have a shell on our truck. The bin I bought is one of those plastic "under the bed" storage bins so the side is only about 12" high and you are not trying to lift that Blue Ox into a deep bin.

RE: Avoiding a pantry mess in the NEW trailer :)

I use those plastic shoe box size bins. I put spices in one, cans in another with no lid on the bin, anything that may leak like oil or syrup in another one, etc.

RE: Reinforcing Table - before converting to bed

Do you have the 4" round table legs with the round anchor posts on the floor and under the table? We made 2 "short" legs out of PVC pipe and used those as support when the dinette was made into a bed.

RE: Lucky

my answer to that is, they --ether caint --or wont--do what u have done. it musy be what u have between the ears, i would be proud my friend, some folks say to the wife and me,must cost a lot to rv, yep it can, or not. when i hear those words i just enjoy it more.---------happy-camping I agree, some people can't or won't do what you and your wife have done and worked hard and made sacrifices to do so. Some people make bad choices in life and then want society to pay for their bad choices... You have done well...be proud and happy camping!
