Dish Network in-motion quality

From those of you that have it, I was curious about Dish Network's (and KVH) quality while in-motion. I have a KVH R5SL with DirecTV at the moment but thinking about switching to DN. While in-motion, when it has to switch to another satellite, is it found quickly?

RE: Yosemite questions

I do plan on cooking steaks and/or burgers so I guess I'll just clean the grill as soon as it has cooled enough and put it away.

Yosemite questions

Do bears ever try to get into RVs or their storage compartments? I've seen some photos of mangled car doors and I would hate for that to happen to my Bounder. Also, are you allowed to grill at your campsite? It seems that would attract bears like crazy.

RE: 1st time Yosemite reservation lottery experience.....Got one

I was lucky enough last month to get a site in Lower Pines for June... and I did it from my iPhone!

RE: KVH R6 In Motion Dish w/ Directv

KVH R6: You won't use the in-motion, only picks up 1 sat, can't get HD
Winegard Trav'ler: HD and multiple sats... go with Winegard
If you were going with Dish I would say 'maybe' since DTV can get HD on Dish.

RE: Yosemite--Hogdon Campground

How many are they converting? All? Or is it like parking spots in a lot, there has to be so many of them to satisfy ADA ?

RE: Yosemite--Hogdon Campground

I was ready at 7am with you. I (surprisingly) got a spot in Upper Pines and I did it on my iPhone! I may be wrong but as I understand it, you could have booked that site.

RE: Yosemite Valley Camping in a 40ft Motor Home

I was lucky enough to make a reservation this morning (online) for a spot in Upper Pines in June. It's a 35' site so it will fit my RV but there was an advisory note regarding trailers and limiting them to 24' due to maneuverability.. I'm not pulling anything so I should be fine. Also, based on pictures, I would think even a 40' rig could fit in a 35' space.

RE: Ford 5R110 Pan Drop INFO

My rig doesn't have the external filter cartridge. I believe sometime during the 2007 model year Ford deleted it. I plan on dropping my pan this summer and replacing it with a Mag-Hytec pan.

RE: Is your Dash A/C enough in the summer while driving?

95? Dash a/c would be fine if I don't mind sweating. Otherwise it's gen, roof air, and a 12 volt fan on the floor to my right. If it's really hot I'll turn on the defrost fans and the dash vent on recirculate.

RE: Shurflo Smart Sensor 5.7 vs Revolution 4008 pumps

Well, I sent my 5.7 back after it failed (luckily just within warranty). They replaced it with a 4.0 revolution. That tells me they have no confidence in the 5.7

RE: Bounder body crack

I'll try to get a picture of the crack but the Bounder is in storage right now. However, Alan is right on the location. I'm not picturing what a 'seam' would look like or how one would go about putting one in. I'll keep searching the net in the meantime.

Bounder body crack

So I've got the dreaded body crack on the lower leading corner at the bedroom slide on my 35H. What have others done about this?

RE: In motion sat TV

I know what that port is but it has nothing to do with the sat signal. The sat signal comes through the coax. The telephone cable is for ordering movies and updating the guide, etc. The original question was what is the advantage of in-motion. Well, the advantage is you can watch TV while rolling down the road. Other than that there is no advantage.

RE: Do you leave your baggage compartments unlocked?

I leave them locked until I need to get into one. Then I unlock it and keep it that way until I put whatever it is back in.

RE: Shurflo Extreme 5.7

UPDATE
They replaced my 5.7 with a Revolution. Not sure if they even tried to fix the 5.7 but I'm not bothered... the Rev gets better reviews. In the meantime I put the basic model back in. Fine for one open faucet but you can't take a shower if another faucet is open. Reminds me why I went to the 5.7 in the first place. Hopefully the Revolution will handle it all.
