RE: Recyling 1 lb. propane tanks?

I use them in the Big Buddy heaters so that is why I buy them. I use the 20 lb for gas cookers, etc.
It just seems a waste selling them then have them fill up landfills.

Recyling 1 lb. propane tanks?

It really seems a waste throwing away those small tanks filled with propane when empty. Looks like there is some kind of place where they can be refilled and not taking up space in landfills.

RE: Custom made spice racks

what's swivel store?
It's a white plastic spice rack that was an "as seen on tv" item. It has a plastic tray that the spices go in that pulls out, much like the one he made.
It's very nice, but it will only fit one size bottles and I keep mine in much larger bottles.
I purchased two of those "as seen on TV" racks at Walmart for my home and they won't fit in my kitchen cabinets. Maybe in my camper.

Layout question on Jayco Jay Flight 29BH

I recently bought a 2006 Jayco 29BH and wonder if other owners can tell me what they use the open space for between the sofa and the side wall that separates it from the lavatory sink? There is a rise in the floor and perhaps designed for a chair or cabinet?
I have a small table that I sit my laptop on (not when traveling.)

RE: Shore Power Conversion

I had a PVC fence post (5 X 5) cover laying around. Used a piece of that for a mounting plate. My install looks like the picture above.
Which one....Flagstaff OR Maverick?

RE: Changing out "shore power" connections

This solution is exactly what I was thinking about. Sorry, I couldn't make it clear.
Here is a potential solution.

Changing out "shore power" connections

My Jayco TT has the pull-out power cord, long enough that sometimes it gets caught inside and hard to pull out. I've thinking of converting to one of those female power connections and a long power cord with a male end on one side and the standard 30 amp on the other.
What advise for doing it myself?

RE: Back-up camera systems

Too complicated. If anyone wants to see how I installed my camers and connections, e-mail me.
BTW, I have no problem adding/posting pictures to my facebook account and other forums.
Thanks Barney5

RE: Help with identifying camper

Next time, take a walk....most folks are very proud of their RVs, and will be more than happy to tell you about them....I'm sure these folks would have too:)
It was there a week and I never saw any sign of life inside or out. Had I had it, I'd be proud too. (G)

RE: Help with identifying camper

Thanks. It was/is Open Range and probably the Journeyer JT340FLR or JT359FKS.
Nice but looking at the weight, my truck prbably would have a hard time pulling it.

RE: Help with identifying camper

While at Shrimp Fest in Gulf Shores, AL there was the neatest little camera parked across from me. It looked like it was made of alumimum, had two front slide-outs -one on each side with one having a porch. I made a picture and the name on the front was something like "Open Road." I'd sure like to see a floor plan and info if anyone can tell me the oorrect name. Thanks.
I meant camper...not camera (but I'm sure most people knew it was a typo.) LOL

RE: Back-up camera systems

lightkeeper...I hate to say it...but should you not have installed the camera below your running lights. I am not sure but at night won't the running light create a bright spot in your view?
I left early in the morning and didn't notice any "bright spots" only from headlights from traffic behind me. I mounted the camera above my spare tire cover and it is fine - had to adjust the camera a little to keep from seeing the top of the tire cover. I made pictures of installation and will upload them as soon as I figure out how.

RE: Back-up camera systems

You didn't test it before installing it??
No. I know that is a "no no" but time did not allow. I am leaving tomorrow early AM and will check it tonight when hooking up. (I had to work yesterday and today)
Everything is ready - all I have to do is hook the truck up tonight when I get home and hopefully everything OK.
(I should have ordered the system weeks ago.)

RE: Back-up camera systems

I just received my order of the rear-view camera system and installed it(with neighbor) help but all I have to do now is DC connection. Hopefully it works! I will post pictures when I get back from vacation.

Back-up camera systems

I'm probably putting this in the wrong place but I want to install a rear camera on my TT to monitor back-up traffic and lane changes. I've thought about wireless however they are more expensive. I want color and ease of do-it-myself installation. Suggestions and info greatly appreciated.

RE: 2006 Jayco Jay Flight 29BH ?

I'm a little concerned about the tires - even though they look OK. I had a bad experience last year with my 2003 Hybrid. Coming back from Gulf Shores I had two blow-outs - one on the left side and the other on the right just 10 miles down the interstate. Needless to say, I replaced all four.
Since this one now is a 2006, I'm seriously considering replacing these before going down next month.
