RE: need suggestions on TV

Thanks that kind of info I was looking for
A lot depends on where you plan to haul your 8000-10000 (fully loaded) trailer. Going around the plains areas is completely different than traveling around the high mountains. I have always put the ability to safely stop my rig at the very top of the list and everything else is secondary.
Lots of vehicles will haul 8000lbs. but few will safely control the trailer on a long mountain downgrade. Different vehicle manufacturers use different methods to control or activate the trailer brakes and some are much more effective at controlling the trailer on steep and or long downhill stretches of road.
A 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck with a crew cab and a diesel engine with an exhaust brake is what I would be looking for with your requirements. The diesel with its exhaust brake will help when going downhill and the diesel itself will provide a lot more power for pulling the trailer up the hill as well. Diesel fuel costs more but it more than makes up for the cost with the improvement in fuel efficiency, or mpg.

RE: need suggestions on TV

I'm a firm believer it truely depends on each individual vechile for instance my tv is a durango most would cringe til I tell them it's a V8 5.9Lt with great ratio and tow package that can tow just over 7000lbs

RE: need suggestions on TV

I really am torn I kinda want a 3/4 truck but can see our family growing thus suv is the practical route, but it would hafta be used I couldn't afford new, good gas mileage is important, so is storage, 4x4, now which of the older SUVs should I steer away from I'm interested in tranny mileage (a lot of ppl sell em just before mileage indicates possible tranny failure)
I would strongly recommend a 3/4 ton SUV (or full-size Van). I have had mine for 10 years, including the years of a double stroller. If you need 4x4, the SUV is easier to find. I have the utility trailer to use when I prefer my SUV to be a pickup.
If you have three kids, they seem to multiply on camping trips. And it is nice to have space between them, so you can worry about driving and not who is touching the other.
With that said, I am close to going to a pickup since two of mine will be in college, and mine sits most of the time as a dedicated tow vehicle (because the gas mileage of the 8.1).

RE: need suggestions on TV

What is the leg space in 2nd n 3rd row suburban? Every used one I've come across don't have the 3 row ?!? And if we put the 3rd roW it looks liker there very little cargo (we have a double stroller) we're already a family of 5 and lots of ext family so if we have stroller back there , there wouldn't be no room for groceries. How heavy are those benches?
