RE: Electrical Issues

Thanks, I looked in the manual and followed their instructions. Should read 13.6 volts at the connections.

RE: Electrical Issues

Rechecked at the battery, 0.5 volts, removed converter and got 0.5 volts. So guess converter is fried.... Should I replace with same make and model or another brand?

RE: Electrical Issues

Okay we made it home, Had to hook up to the truck to bring in slides and raise landing gear etc. I measure the voltage on the plug where the converter plugs into and it was 120 volts. No issue there. I tried to measure the connections on the end of the converter but my probe's weren't long enough. I took a look at the fuses on the end of the converter and they are good. So Going to remove the converter from the trailer and plug it in the garage and see what the voltage is. Thanks for the help. Gotta get this fixed so we can get back to camping...

RE: Electrical Issues

Yup converter not inverter, manual says I should see 13.6 volts when charging. I'm only seeing 12. Also want to clearly understand RV electric. All 12 volt systems run off the battery? Even when connected to shore power and then the converter charges the battery as needed. So I would guess I need a new converter.

Electrical Issues

Lately I have noticed lights were dim in the rig, and noticed yesterday battery was drained. Replaced battery with new one and again this am battery is drained. Put meter to cables and measured 12 volts. Is the inverter not doing its job of running 12volt systems when on shore power? Blown fuse maybe?

RE: Alignment in Boston Area

Not sure up there but I just went through this here. Had to get all new running gear. Since I only had about 6k on the trailer Dexter axle covered it, All I had to pay was the labor, freight charges back to Dexter, and the cost of a new tire. If they find it was caused by a manufacturer defect they will reimburse me all the money. At least I didn't have to pay for the new axles at around 600 bucks a shot. I looked at the axles after they removed the old ones and the rear axles was flat, no camber at all. The front one looked good.

RE: Need an opinion from the "weight police"

My 9000lb GVWR Dodge Ram 2500 MegaCab was 200lbs over when it was just me and a nearly empty fuel tank. When I added all the stuff to go camping, DW and the dogs. And a full tank it all added up to being well over the GVWR. Wasn't over axles weights. But I didn't like the ride and I didn't like being over loaded. Do yourself a favor and get the 1 ton. I'm glade I did. You need to go on a diet if you and nearly empty fuel tank put your truck at 9200 lbs. Me, wife, hitch in bed, and about 1/2 tank of fuel brings my 07 3500 QC, LB, 4x4, Dually to 8300 lbs. lol, That was with the camper behind me too!

RE: Diesel Engine Monitor

CTS here as well. Can monitor EGTs now with out having to drill and tap the manifold. I compared the price to analog gauges and it was about the same. Thinking about getting the dash pod too. Very nice unit
