RE: Theiving Season

Yeah...things have worsened, I think. Been in south Texas for five years, never a problem. This year, we bought a new 2011 Chevy truck in March before we left. Keep a car here for when we get back, so we don't drive the truck much...sometime in the last two weeks used the truck maybe three times...someone removed both fog lamps and we just noticed the other day...community is gated, so sure it happened outside the gates! Bummer...

RE: Landmark - About to make the plunge

To my knowledge it will be similar to what you'd get in the Teton or Mobile Suite....fully ducted, intake and return, and much quieter.....really great upgrade. Glad we held off on buying a new Heartland!

RE: Forest River or Heartland

heartland bought fleetwood or something like that but I have friend that bought a high end fleetwood 5er in 04 it stayed in the shop until warranty ran out. It was a pos then and is a pos now. they were treated so poorly that it will stop me from buying a heartland or previous fleetwood of any kind. JMO. Heartland bought the names and intellectual properties of Fleetwood, I.e., Prowler, wilderness, etc....the new Prowler, now being built is definitely NOT the Prowler built by Fleetwood...

RE: Fifth wheel leveling systems

Have had our levelup since June of '09...only sprayed ours once or twice during regular maintenance since installation...still works perfectly.

RE: Good Sam ERS Works...However

I think the key is he broke down in "a remote area"...had a similar situation years ago. The Road Service is at the mercy of the tow companies available in a given area...if they are few and far between..you get what they can find. When we broke down in a highly populated area...no problem...had great service in a really short time.

RE: 2011 Heartland Bighorn 3610RE

To the quality of the Bighorn....we've lived fulltime in ours for five years and it's held up beaautifully. Any issues we've encountered, I think would have occurred on any brand considering the constant use and over 60K miles we've put on it. Think you'll be happy with you're decision.

RE: 2011 Heartland Big Country Roof Separating

He was asked not to continually repeat the same complaint over and over, as his point had been made....posts are still visible and I'm sure he's welcome on the Heartland forum.

RE: Come on down, lots of room.

Thanks for the invite! Have thought about the RGV, also Retama Village; but have concerns about safety being so close to the boarder?? This is our 7th season within 2 miles of the border, Crime against Winter Texans is nearly non existant other than petty theft. You should at least check out the area. RV lots for sale from under $9000. to about $70,000. Many with improvements such as coach houses, Texas Rooms, sheds, awnings & landscaping & more. This is our 5th season at Retama Village, which is even closer to the border than Pawatt....safety has NEVER been an issue here, or actually anywhere in the RGV. Common sense is the key, as it is anywhere...pay attention to surroundings and no problem. I spend lots a time alone, as the DH travels for work, and I've always felt safe even outside the village...come on down, you won't regret it! Great weather, people, shopping, entertainment, etc.

RE: So What do you pay per KW hour for Electricity in RV Park

We own our lot in Mission, TX, and have locked in a rate of just 10.95 cents per kwh for the next two years...quite happy with that rate when we see what some are paying in the RV parks.

RE: Black tank will burst??

Have a very close friend who got distracted with the valve closed, and water did travel up and out the vent pipe...which then came down thru the bedroom ceiling...not once, but twice! So, yes, it can happen.

RE: Turn off fridge?

We installed a fire suppression system in the refers outside compartment...that's where most fires start.
