RE: HDMI splitter/combiner/distribution box

Just searched on that today...

I don't know anything about them other than that they appear to be what we're looking for.

RE: Looking At 94 Park Trailer - HELP Please

Run away far and fast.
Water damage doesn't usually come from beneath, it comes from above. I'd bet you'd find the roof and sides of the slide are rotten as well. Best to avoid that unless you can get it really cheap.

RE: Nice campgrounds near Apalachicola, FL

St. George Island SP or St. Joseph Peninsula SP.
Beach access is close; neither CG is right on the beach. I assume you know it's really hot and really buggy a few hours around sundown until November.

RE: AC not keeping up

If your compressor's runnning it's probably not a voltage problem.
You have very little insulation and big (compared to wall area) single-pane windows. In a hot climate, especially if you have sun shining on you, you're toast.
You might consider fitting some reflective foil material to the windows that are exposed to the most sun in the afternoon.
The previous owner of out TT had installed what he calls "limousine tinting" to the windows; although it makes outside somewhat dark, no one can see in and it greatly reduces heat transmission.

RE: Satellite Radio Antenna

I stuck it to the steel hardware under a plastic roof vent, then led the thin wire across the ceiling (hidden by white tape) and down to the receiver.
An alternative is a rail-mount antenna.

RE: What did you do to your Class C MH today???

> unclog the black water tank
A guy here in the park tried doing that by applying pressure; blew the tank up. He's now famous.:E

RE: Should I use some gasoline addatives?

Propaganda aside...
I ran about five tankfuls of Techron through my old Ford 460, got 'er to behave again. No backfires, no "I'll think about accelerating."
Magic juice? Probably not. But it obviously did somethinhg good.
Now I try to get major-brand gas, mid-range, and if I think the gas might sit a month or more I dump Stabil in the tank.
It's working and the old Ford's happy...

RE: Some days I just shake my head.....

We've made some very close friends in the past couple of weeks.
Although they at first appeared to be complete bozos taking two hours to back in a 5er, they took it all in stride, complete with about six stupidvisors.
Turns out we're probably second cousins or something; our end of the CG is now "Hicks Holler."
You never know...

I'm aware of the SS units but I can't fit one. Does anyone know of anything smaller/skinnier?

RE: Raising my C class home1988 Royal Classic 28ft

Go to Home Depot or Lowes and buy a 2x12x16 and have them cut it into two-foot pieces. You now have a set of leveling blocks. If you need get some altitude you can build a ramp of one, then two, then three etc.
Be sure to support both tires of a dual; you don't want the entire weight on only one tire. Also, very important, don't let anyone stand close behind or alongside the rig when driving up on them; if something slips a block can shoot out quite a ways.

RE: FIRST ALERT NOAA weather radio...

Get one with an extendable antenna or an antenna input. I've been in places where nothing was received without the antenna fully extended.

There's a decent-looking Encore park in Land O'Lakes that's fairly close.

RE: Hillsborough State Park, Florida in Feb.

We've been to Hillsborough several times but, oddly, have never seen a gator there. There probably won't be many gators moving in February anyway.
It can get a bit chilly; last February we had (just north of Tampa) about seven nights of lows in the upper 20s. As mentioned, Hillsborough can be a mudhole but winter's the dry season.
Be sure to take the tram tour and the fort tour.

RE: weather radio?

Yes, unnecessary warning are certainly better than none at all.
How do you spot a tornado at night? Arcing power lines and exploding transformers?

RE: Did ya ever wonder why some campsites are unlevel?

In our park in Florida we had 35 new sites...all level...until Southwest Florida Water Management District came along and said we had to have somewhat of a swale in the back row. So those sites are level, the folks just step out into a drainage ditch.
Fast forward a year...SWFMD asks "why is that swale there?"
Your tax dollars at work.

RE: weather radio?

I've had a SAME-enabled radio for several years (the county gave them out free _after_ hurricane Charlie) and the problem is that the warnings aren't discrete enough. When the radio screams a warning and it's 50 miles away and downwind..and keeps doing that, people just shut them off and go back to bed.
For every "nothing was left" story there's five counties' worth of "nothing happened." It just breeds complacency.
