Brakes and Bearings --- How Often to Service?

My 5er has had brakes and bearings serviced every summer. Last service was 3600 miles (5800 km) ago. How often should brakes and bearings be serviced?

RE: Travelling with Dogs and 5'er

We have travelled about 35000 km (22 000 miles) with our Golden in the back seat of our truck while hauling a 5er. We have a full back seat which you might not have. Our beautiful boy hates travelling when the 5er is attached. He used to panic and try to claw his way into the front. To preserve our truck and for everybody's safety, we tether him in the back now using a harness and a swivel hook so he can always turn, stand, lie down, etc. I'm sure this could be done for two dogs plus a passenger but there would not be a lot of room. I think a crate or crates would be good but there isn't room in the truck for them. You must be used to dog hair by now.

RV Antifreeze Disappeared

When winterizing our Forest River Wildcat today, we used four gallons of antifreeze when only two gallons were necessary for our previous eight winterizings. We saw no leaks but very little pink colour in the lines and eventually only a faint pink came out of the taps. Usually we get a brighter pink. The fresh water tank has never been used and thus it should be empty just as the monitor says it is. The hot water tank had been drained prior to winterizing and the by-pass was positioned as always. No antifreeze drained out of the anode hole. No drips or leaks were seen under the RV. Did the anitfreeze get diluted by water still in the system aand thus the lines are only faint pink? Could the antifreeze have gone into the fresh water tank which reads empty and has never been used?

RE: A rat in my trailer

I can't bear the thought of mice damaging my 5th wheel so I have one trap set in a storage compartment and one under the kitchen table. However, this method is useful in fighting the critters only if you check the traps regularly. I check every day because our 5er is stored on our property about 40 yards from the house/garage. I also don't want mice in the garage so there are two traps there which are checked daily. If you can set traps and check them often, do it.
