Outlet plugs

Im not sure how this is supposed to work but I thought that the outlet plugs in the rv was supposed to work off the batteries like the lights do.The only way I can get power to them is by running the generator or shore power. Is this the way it is supposed to work or do I have something wrong.

RE: air conditioner

The exhaust for the air conditioner is big and round.Dont think I will find a hole big enough in the compartment to lead it on to the outside. Can I do something to narrow the exhaust smaller or will this be counter productive.

RE: air conditioner

I have a storage area in the back that is pretty big.One of the dummy vents lead to this area.Maybe i can lead the hot air to this storage compartment. If i go through the wall i will have to drill to the other side and out the rv to get to the outside.I think that is to risky.

RE: air conditioner

I wont to put it in the bedroom in the back and use it to cool just that part.I do have a couple of dummy vents in the back. Will this help in any way to duct the hot air to the outside. My windows in the back are the roll out type.I was thinking about taking the glass out of one of the cranks and replace it with plexiglass and cut a hole in it to fit the exhaust.Im sure this will work but i will have to find me a glass company that will shape and cut the glass.Guess i didnt realize how hard this was gonna be.

RE: kill a watt

What i was thinking of was what ryanallie1 posted. Not very accurate i suppose. It seems i need to get a good 30 amp surge protector and a kill a watt if i need to know how many volts is being used from a certain appliance/breaker.My appologies if i confused anyone with my ignorance.

kill a watt

Are their an easy to read kill a watt that i can use that is color coded. One that will have a needle that will move to green if good and red if bad.Instead of having to read numbers.
