RE: even brake portable braking system for toad

I own one since 2010, bought used. I use it with a Saturn car. Works fine. The only issue, the box is big to put in place in a small car but not a real problem with the Saturn. If there is a way for you to test with your Fiesta before buying that would be great. If you don't already own a tow bar, the Ready Brute seems to be a good simple bundle including the tow bar and the braking system, but I never used it. If you already have a tow bar and don't like the idea to put in place and remove the box each time you disconnect your vehicle, you can also check for SMI systems.

RE: Small motorcycle carrier

If the weight on the hitch is a concern, you can look at this option. The advantage of a trailer without the problems when backing up. I do not own one, but I find the idea interesting. motorcycle trailer

RE: Even Brake Remote

You can program a new remote control for an existing unit. Go to step E of the following document to get the procedure: http://www.roadmasterinc.com/pdf/85-3300-06.pdf I have instaled an new "second vehicle kit", and in this case i needed you to program the remote control for the new kit. It is very easy to do and well documented in the pdf file. I never had to call their support line, but always readed good comment about it. If you call them and are lucky, maybe they will ship you a free new remote control even if the warranty is not valid.

RE: Who has driven a 6.0L class C in the mountains?

I have a 2005 6.0L, Montreal to Vancouver round trip with a toad, two times in the mountains the engine temperature rose then I just slowed down and it got back to normal. I had a Scangauge, you need to program it for the gm transmision temperature.

RE: Stupid and dangerous?

Just weight the van loaded, you will get your answer if overloaded as per the capacity tag in your left door.

RE: Driving in Snow-Advice?

I usually don't drive my class C during winter, but once got back from Florida on I81 and it was snowing from PA to Ontario, snow storm conditions with wind most of the time. I have seen around 25 cars that had lost control. On my class C in snow, when fully loaded the rear weels have all the traction needed, front wheel less traction but similar as driving a rear wheel drive car. During snow, my comfort zone speed was 45-50 mph with the class C on the Interstate.

RE: More freaky furnace issues

Check the input voltage, problem with converter or batteries can lead to this failures as your furnace need a lot of power. Check your dc voltage when furnace operate.

RE: Chevrolet Orlando.

Sorry, I just discovered it is not available in USA for 2012. My mistake. It was available in Europe last year, and now in Canada for 2012. It is a small mini-van. It is on gm.ca web site but no information about toad usage. I will send an email to check with GM Canada.

RE: 3-way refrigerator

When I had a pop-up 5 years ago I tried the 12v. refrigerator once while driving and forgot to switch on propane for the night. It drained the pop-up and the mini-van battery within 12 hours. But, The 12v. TV to TT cabling is usefull for other usage in the pop-up(furnace, lights and Fantastic fan). I had a 7 pin plug extension cable to charge the pop-up battery with the mini-van when dry camping for some days. The extension cable was to avoid van exhaust around the pop-up.

RE: Options for TV power while driving?

My real experience, in our class C we use a 300 watts inverter connected in the cigarette lighter socket(20 amps fused). With that when driving we use a 19 inches flat screen TV/DVD with a WII console, no problem with that setup. I even connect a laptop sometimes but am near the limits of the inverter(low voltage alert at idle speed). This is a simple and inexpensive setup. Bigger inverter will need dedicated bigger cabling and fuses on the 12 volt side.

RE: Why does my battery drain while parked?

It is normal, the propane sensor itself draw current that after some weeks will lower your battery charge. Unhook the battery when you return from trip. You can install a switch on your main line to battery, or unhook the cable directly on the battery.

RE: Judgment of Pictures of Sidewalls of 6.5 yr Tires

As DonPd post link 'When to replace' says, manufacturers recommend > 2/32 deep crack the tire should be replaced. I had your model of tires manufactured in 2004. I bought a gauge to measure the value, and found on the rear outside tires the worst crack at 4/32, some at 3/32 and many others at 2/32 so decided to replace the tires 2 months ago. A reputable tire shop can make this test for you, they will be happy to find some > 2/32 deep crack so ask them to show you the measure ;-)

RE: Fantastic Fan Bathroom or Bedroom?

I prefer in the middle of the RV. Set at minimum speed level you will practicaly don't ear it. In the bathroom if the fantastic fan is on, the door is closed and you flush the toilet you will 'vent' the black tank ;-( Just my 2 cents.

RE: Vinyl State Map Sticker – where to get the old style?

Would it be interest for some of us that the future print by fly-boy be north america all in one instead of USA only (as each of my trips starts from Canada ;-) )

RE: Tow Dollies and Bicycle Help

My quick answer would be to instal a hitch on your Accord as I do the same on my Saturn (towing 4 down). The advaantage is you can bring your bike everywhere you go with your toad, and they are easier to detach from the car than from the MH. As you use a dolly, it is different. You need to be sure the clearance of your bike rack is ok when on the dolly, also calculate 3-4 inches for the car spring compression when set with bikes.

RE: How to fix squeaks???

Check the screen door when driving by pressing different section on it to find rattles. Also the upper section of the range , then the outside part of the hood vent outlet that can flap if not locked properly.

RE: Breakaways??

As per instruction when i have installed a BluOx baseplate they says to put Loctite on bolts tread. I assume some installer skip this step ;-) Best to double check once in a while if bolts still tight enough.
