RE: Water heater won't light.

I have the same problem sometimes. The pilot tries to light the burner and then it goes back out
Clean all wire connections on the outside.
My unit says on a decal to clean all wire connections, before replacing the circuit board.
I am still think of trying a dielectric grease on them.

RE: Cleaning Black Tank

The instructions that come with these flush kits warn to always leave the black tank gate valve open while running the flush water. I know, the tank is vented, and as long as you don't walk away and forget, nothing bad will happen. Personally, I follow the instruction.
I agree.
Do not over fill. It can push the top of the tank up, and then push the vent up out through the roof and pop the vent cap off. Don't ask me how I know.

RE: Rear end too low

Have you looked at raising the pin box and lowering the hitch?
Not riding level possibly puts a greater load on the low end axle.

RE: About to re-finish my Front Cap – 2 questions for the pros

OK....let me add some additional information.
The decals directly from Crossroads are very cheap ($20-25) and the RMP and BKF were less than $20....and I'm doing this myself.
I have a 2006 and was quoted the following for the front decals.
to me
Good Morning Jim:
Getting back with you on your decal issue for your front cap. There are 2
different decal on the front. One is the Cruiser name decal and the price on
that is $24.00. The other is the swooshes on the front the price on those
are $62.00. If you are wanting to buy please give me a call and I can order
them for you with a credit card.
Thank you,

RE: Newbee looking for advice on first spring start-up

There is a check valve in the back of the water heater. Pick up a spare at your dealer. They are prone to stick and you can't get hot water. Simple to install, but a dealer will wax you good for labor.
Tires:
I like Maxxis E's for my 225/75/15's. If I had 16" I would go with an LT tire.

RE: 5vr is too wide!

I bought a McDonalds sign in Garden City Kansas a few years ago. Cost me 2 tires and rims a fender, I guess you would call it. and $400 for the sign. Covered by insurance though.
Turned too short right handed. One of the small entry signs.

RE: Curt 5th wheel hitch

I have a Q20 that I like very very well. The only problem I have had is at 20 deg. the jaws would not close completely enough for the handle to go in far enough to lock. Had to pry the jaw down with long screwdriver.
I have about 30,000 miles on it.

RE: Twin Knobs Morehead KY

I live real close, and I don't think there is water, except at Host sites. I may be wrong as they have been doing a lot of construction there. Give them a call and ask.

Charleston County Park S.C.

We just spent 4 days at the Charleston Co Park on James Island S.C.
Our experience was very nice. What a nice place for a stop over or an extended stay.
A little of the beaten path, but just follow the directions posted.
Very helpful staff also.
Check it out if you are going that way.

RE: hitch question for you 5th wheel guys

I have a straddle mounted tool box with the thin (about 1 1/2 in) over the rails.
I have not had a problem with it, but would have in a really 80 to 90 deg. turn.
The 5ver would hit very easily. I suggest what the others have recommended.

RE: Mixing load range D & E tires

I am running 225/75/15 Maxim E's. I have 2 new Goodyear D's as spares. I have run about 3000 miles with E's on one side and D's on the other. I had an accident in Kansas, and ruined 2 rh tires, D's were all I could find. Ran them until I got home and ordered the E's
I see no problem with doing what you are thinking. I run 72 pounds of air in the E's and 65 in the D's I am short of my max load by about 900 #

RE: Power cord ?

I was under the impression that a 50A service, was actually 2- 25A services.
Am I wrong?

RE: Power cord ?

Unless your trailer is equipped with 2 AC units or you are running an AC unit and washer/dryer at the same time, you really don't need 50 amps.
I bought a 50 amp to 30 amp adaptor cord (similar to this one.
It has worked well for me,
I do have 2 a/c's and live in Florida so it gets hot but that is a good idea it would be lighter and easyer to manage for sure. I may be able to run 2 a/c's on 30 amps but it may be cutting it close.Rember your 50A is really two 50A circuits giving you 100A of capacity for 110V devices. 30A is just 30A. Your 50A gives you over 300% of the 30A capacity.
I have a 30A cord but never use it unless I have to. I got tired of going out to reset the breaker on the pedestal anytime somebody turned on a hair dryer, the microwave, or whatever. Once I even kicked the breaker off at the parks switchgear leaving a few mad campers at my door. You'll find you appreciate that 50A.

RE: Caliper brake conversion question.

Thanks everyone. I readjust a little tighter today. Working a lot better now.
But man, that seems too tight for an old coot like me. But I yield to the experts.
And Bpounds, It's been a long time since I have seen a Wilson Arching machine.

Caliper brake conversion question.

After installing new brakes, and turning the drums, I found my brakes were still a little weak. Took to my dealer and he said they were not tight enough, so we readjusted to a point that seems too tight. ( spins 2 3/4 revs max) as hard as you can hand spin it. This seems like they would be dragging and decrease fuel mileage.
Did anyone with the disk conversion get better or worse fuel mileage after the conversion?

RE: Power cord ?

I just ordered 2 30A 1 male and 1 female, from Tweety's. Took 5 days to ship after order was processed. Too long I feel.
But the Camco built products were what I needed and they had a fair price I guess.

RE: Yea yea another one!!

I run 225/75/16E tires. My rims were only rated for 75 PSI, so I run 72 PSI all the way around.
I do not believe that the weight of my rig requires that I run 80 PSI in the tires.
I know that a lot of people will differ with me. But that is what I do.
