RE: Yahoo Problems?

People need to realize these "does this website work for you" questions in general are pointless. yahoo does not exist at only one server, there can potentially be hundreds, all pointing to the same url. Thus if the one server YOUR attempting to hit doesn't work in CA. a guy in FL may work fine, since he is hitting a completely different server, thus proving nothing. People in the same general area can also hit a different server depending on load balancing algorithms that some website use. This is just an FYI. your solving nothing by asking this question. Case in point, in PA, the following FOUR servers below resolve to Yahoo.com, they can/prolly are different somewhere else in the country Name: yahoo.com Addresses: 72.30.2.43 98.137.149.56 98.139.180.149 209.191.122.70 I see where you're coming from, but if you look at where there are problems, many different areas of the country--even Canada--are affected. In my opinion, Yahoo Mail IS having difficulties, and it's not just on his or my server.

RE: Yahoo Problems?

As of today (2/1) Yahoo Mail was absolutely CRAZY! I've had many problems with it before over a period of months---but today was, by far, the worst it has ever been. Tonite, however, it went well--so let's hope it stays that way.

RE: cellphone/computer accessories source?

Thanks for all of your ideas. I did order the cable I needed from the 3G store that someone recommended. jim

cellphone/computer accessories source?

Today I broke a cellphone adapter cable connection plus in the next couple of months I'm going to want to get a new cellphone because our town is going 4G. I need a store/company who I can call and get electronic information from and then purchase what I need from them. I've used Brandolini Electronics in NH but not sure he's still in business. If you know of a source for this, please let me know their name/website and phone number. Thanks.

Paint---how to use it?

I can bring up the program from my Start menu. Then I select the 'pencil', choose the color---and then how do I draw on ,say, a Word document OR Notepad, etc. Sign me 'Stumped'. And thanks.

RE: Yahoo Mail problems

It's almost impossible to go back to Classic Mail. I have a paid yahoo mail account and I had to call in to make the switch back. There is no other way as far as I know. Unless they have bowed to demand and provided a link to click. I tried their new format 2 or 3 times. It's just not as good as Classic, to me. A word of caution, export your contact list so you have a backup. Yahoo lost my wife's contact list and could not get it back. I looked all over but could not find Classic. Guess now I know why. I do try to print out my contacts periodically. Thanks.

RE: Yahoo Mail problems

I changed from Internet Explorer to Google Chrome and no more problems! I wondered in the back of my mind if IE-9 might be the cause. My e-card provider said they could not provide service as long as I used IE-9 as a brouser.

RE: Yahoo Mail problems

A responder on another forum said he's had no problems since going back to the 'Classic' Yahoo Mail. Since posting, I've been editing my 'contacts'. Talk about an absolutely awful scroll bar! It took me 30 min. to do what I used to do in 5!

Yahoo Mail problems

Is it just me and my laptop, or has Yahoo gone south!? Everyday it's something else i.e. today I cannot 'reply'. Yesterday it would not 'delete' until I clicked on the Inbox, etc. I have the 'new' version which, in my opinion, has more problems than the version I had before, and I don't like it as well i.e. I have to double-click to open mail (my machine is set on single-click) sometimes--and sometimes I don't. And today my 'contact's list would not scroll! I could change to another mail system but would have to notify a thousand people/sites about an e-mail address change. Am I the only one who has been having trouble? Thanks.

RE: Norcold problem: everything is frozen!

I thermistor goes 3,4,5 fin appx. centered , if freezing anyway refer should show a code ? owners manual with give you access procedure. may be running in override mode ? if so would indicate power board not comunicating with thermistor or not properly interpreting the thermistor signal. you mentioned that you had ice on fins ? if so either our new thermistor is no good or board isn't acting on it. the outside possibillity is the thermistor harness is damaged. possition of thermistor on fins is not as critical as norcold would have you think do not know the make of the thermistor that my local tech installed before we left. Norcold model 1210 IM. This is what my tech said: (Sorry--I 'pasted' in his reply--and it came out all messed up!)

RE: Norcold problem: everything is frozen!

It looks to me as if the thermistor is on the 5th fin from the right and about 1/3 of the way down it. My wife defrosted the fins with the hair dryer. I then tried and failed to move the clamp/thermistor into another position on that fin.

Norcold problem: everything is frozen!

Just installed a new thermistor AND a power board. It stays about 32° or slightly below, so today the eggs and the cottage cheese were frozen! We'll be out here on the highway for another 2 months. I have an appointment with Metro RV in Burbank, CA Thursday. Any ideas of what the problem is? Thanks.

RE: Cummins Power Club--worth it?

Your answers have pretty much convinced me that it IS worth the $20. Thanks. Jim

Cummins Power Club--worth it?

I've really never collected on anything by belonging. A couple of times I attempted using my CPC when I bought coolant, etc., but the salesperson in parts always said the item was already discounted. Kinda like throwing $19.95 away each year. I'd like to hear your comments. Thanks.

RE: What GPS works best for traveling ??

I'm with the laptop/Street Atlas 'gang'. I put the laptop on a table next to my driver's seat (RV & car). It gives me a huge view of everything ahead. I'm lost without it! I also use a little 'cheat sheet' that I type up that gives me rest areas, highway numbers, CG driving instructions, and fuel stops. The DW has little interest in maps.

RE: Weather Stations and other related gear

Wow, Davis Vantage Vue what a nice looking setup. All I wanted was a small reliable wireless thermometer with a remote sensor for our RV and one for our condo in the Sierra Nevadas. To jimhaz2402, they are available from several places. Campersland has one for $274.99 which is the best price I've seen so far.

RE: Weather Stations and other related gear

I've used different brands of wx stations and have settled on the Davis Vantage Vue. Wireless, no wires to run inside the RV. Compact, mounts/dismounts easily to the roof ladder on the RV. Reliable and accurate readings. My Weather Data The Davis VV looks like what I need. Do the ladder mounts come with it? If not, please give me details of how you mount it to your ladder. I would like to mount it on my roof when we're home. Any ideas about how to? Thanks. Jim

RE: Reloading lost position on SmarTire

You might want to contact Paul Kintigh @ Bob Dickman Tire Center in Junction City, OR. His phone # was as of 7/08: 541-998-3319. He got our SmartTire system up and going and seemed to be very knowledgeable when it came to that ST. I have the owner's manual if you can't get in touch with Paul. Jim

RE: Windows update problem i.e. .NET Framework 4

I had this problem recently. I had to uninstall/reinstall Office 2003. Then the update installed flawlessly. I've never used Vista, by the way... Did you happen to notice what the updates were for specifically? It only said '.NET Framework 4'--then a listing of all of the various Windows Operating Systems (from XP>7)

RE: Windows update problem i.e. .NET Framework 4

Have you tried manually downloading and installing those .NET updates? Give me the technic, please, and I'll give it a try.
