RE: Line-X vs Rhino Liner

You are looking at the Line-X Xtra it does not fade.As others and I have observed Line-X is harder to the touch then Rhino.I dont have preference but I did go with Line-X and I really use the back of my truck. And it has had held up great.

RE: Weight Police story.

I think most of us that did our own firewood cutting(In my younger days) can relate to being overloaded at times.I have been in Arkansas for 6months now.We are surrounded by farmland and loading up a truck to Max and over payload is just a way of life here? This is what they have to work with and they use it?

RE: Maybe I should have bought a A instead of a 5er?

Maybe one day for me and DW we would go with a class A DP.But we are not full timing yet?I still use my truck for hauling many other items/Building materials etc, so a big truck fits with my current lifestyle. And one other eason off the top of my head.A class A would be very difficult to get into many places that I boondock?I do however know one guy who takes his way off the beaten path(cant believe he does)lol?

RE: Need advice, traveling 2k miles in 5th wheel. (new to rving)

My first gut reaction was no?Reason being four small kids plus winter road conditions and limited RV experience?Thats a long trip and many things could go wrong.I have no idea what year your 5er is or the condition? It can get rather nasty on i-40 on that stretch of road(especially During December).I dont want to sound negative and I encourage RV travel to all but I would hate to see a great road trip turn out bad?

RE: Dogs Bad Breath??

We brush the Dogs teeth every morning with Dog/Pet Toothpaste. This helps a lot.Just do some research on what you give your dog, you may be surprised what can harm them?

RE: 19.5 wheels, is it an upgrade or downgrade...need advice

I dont have these tires but I have read about them on another forum. The wear is a non issue for all that I have read. The only problem they expressed because many do off roading/boondocking was that in the sand they are not able to air down like their other tire wheel combos? Not sure this holds water with all 19.5?Guy had a dually with 19,5 and goes to Pismo many times a year and said the big tires sank like a rock compared with other set?Other complaint was getting new tires out of round and having a rough ride. This is all just from my research and not my experience.I like they way they look and the wear/life.

RE: Ordering F350 from factory?

I agree with this. The dealers will give a much better deal/bargaining power(like said above) with what they need to move off the lot.
Nope; that did not happen in my case. Actually, the dealer has more money tied up in the vehicles setting on his lot than a special order. If the dealer wants more money to special order; go to another dealer, problem solved.
The only problem I have run into when special ordering is when the manufacture limits the dealer to a certain number of a certain type vehicle and he has already used up his alotment.
Brad
I see your point. The problem I saw was with Manuf rebates. For example when they offer 3-4 k off sticker from factory? If I would of ordered my truck the only way I would of got this offer is if the build date(when they actually start building your truck)fell into the offer date?
But this is for GMC so it may be a different story for the other guys?Your correct that research really pays off.I wonder how many actually pay sticker price?

RE: Ordering F350 from factory?

Dealers love customers who wish to build their own truck.
It gives you no bargaining power, they got you and you pay the quoted price.
It is better to establish exactly what you want.. and once you know this then do a search on various website including Ford.Change the zip code from time to time to see what is available in stock at various dealers near you or along a route you are going to travel.
I got lucky in 2003 and found my truck in Tennesee.
Gerry
I agree with this. The dealers will give a much better deal/bargaining power(like said above) with what they need to move off the lot.But hey if you dont mind not saving a few thousand dollars go for it.I did my whole deal via internet and did not have to step foot in a dealership until I went to pick up my truck.

RE: Why stay in a campground when you can boondock?

Personal preference I guess?I like to boondock as I can stretch my dollars a bit further.I like the privacy and like to have a place to take the Dogs for a good long walk (off the leash if permitted).I also have a Dirt bike and Rhino so off roading is my thing.
