RE: Which TPMS and why?

Your question is one you will not find a good answer for. We all research the best we can and buy something. You will not find folks that have bought a number of different ones and did a comparison. I bought Pressure Pro because they have been around a while. Is it better than some of the newer ones on the market-darned if I know but mine works and that is all I ask of it. Jim

RE: Cost of having AIR conditioning ON?????

If you have to worry about the cost of using your AC it may be the RV lifestyle is not for you. Jim

RE: safe preasure

We boondock most of the time and DW was always complaining of low water pressure. I recently replaced the original water pump with a Shurflo 5.7 gpm Smart Sensor pump that puts out 65 psi. DW is happy now. Jim

RE: Finally, Scangauge D for Diesels

There seems to be a bug in the ScanGauge D. Myself and another fellow both with C-7 Cat 350's are having eratic readings on the MPG and the instant MPG readouts. He has contacted them and they have a fix for it they tell him. I called them this afternoon and the owner/developer was out of town but they were very nice and said they would get back to me tomorrow. It is unknown to me what engine systems are involved but it sounds like they have it under control. RE: New Maryland state appeals court ruling on Pit Bulls

In the state of Maryland from now on and probably all other states soon it will now be VERY wise to ask a potential renter with a dog that could even very slightly be one that fits the legal description to provide a legal certificate proving that dog is not one that the law applies to. That will be the only legal protection they will have. What else could the landlord do to protect himself? Jim

Good for the logical decision. Jim

RE: Sattelite Dishes

How many responses do you think you will get from folks that have bought both and compared them. Not many I bet. Jim

RE: Cyclone Sewer Vent for Roof

I recently installed one and it works. The one thing I didn't like is it would spin and make a rattling noise when we were parked and the wind was blowing. My fix was to face it forward like it would be when driving down the road and putting a round of plastic tape around the swivel joint so it could not rotate. Problem solved. Jim

RE: Portable Air Compressors

A popular choice is a $99.00 150 psi model portable from Sears. I have one that works well and is quite compact. Jim

RE: Chassis Battery Recommendation

Your chassis battery is the battery that starts your engine. It also powers the step. What problem are you trying to fix? Jim

RE: Pressure Pro on aluminum wheels?

Easiest is replace the stems with straight shorties.

RE: Pressure Pro on aluminum wheels?

That black line that looks like a crack is actially a thin strip of tape from the inside of the lug nut cap that came loose. The caps fit too loose and they have a couple of wraps of thin tape around the inside where they fit on the lug nut to tighten them up. Good eye. Jim

RE: Pressure Pro on aluminum wheels?

I had the valve stems on the outer duals replaced with short straight metal valve stems. Had it done at Les Schwab Truck Tire Center in Bellingham Washington. No charge. http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg219/jauguston/Valvestem001.jpg Jim

RE: Generator - furnace ECM question

Onan has a Auto Start option for many of its generators. The Auto Start controller can be set to not start the generator for the hours when generator use is not allowed. Typically no generator use between 9 pm and 8 am in most parks. Auto Start is typically used to start the generator when the inside temperature gets hot enough you want the AC to come on when you are away with animals in the RV or when the house batteries get low enough they need recharging. RE: arctic fox generators

Just keep in mind the Honda portable generators as well as most all portable generators are not intended to be run in a enclosed space. They will overheat. Jim

RE: Generator

If it doesn't add too much weight to your rear axle and the mounting is sturdy enough to take the shaking of travel it will probably be OK. Jim

RE: preformance Chips

Performance devices will do just that -- performance as in power increases. You will never live long enough to break even on the cost of the device with fuel savings. Jim

RE: Home made Gen-turi for $20.00

The key to keeping the plastic pipe cool is the way the air gap is designed where the elbow blows the exhaust into the pipe. If you are going to build your own take a close look at a Genturi and specifically the way the exhaust elbow is placed in relation to the plastic pipe. Jim

RE: Removing Decals

If you have a lot to do I would recommend the 8" wheel rather than a 3" one. A angle buffer will be the right speed. A angle grinder will be too fast and generate too much heat on the surface. Jim
